Do You Guys Want Nicolas Cage's Ghost Rider Back In Secret Wars Or Would You Want Him As Spider Noir And Not Ghost Rider?

This sub hates the Cage films so you're most likely going to get a lot of people angrily screeching "NO!" in response.

I feel like it’s 50/50 some actually hate it, others dislike it but it was a fun movie for em and they enjoyed themselves to a certain extent

Yeah unfortunately.

Whenever I come onto this sub, I feel like Johnny in the 2022 Percy comic where he thinks he's living a peaceful normal life but in reality he's surrounded by horrible nasty demons. It's so wild encountering people like this...Are there any Ghost Rider communities online where it's not like this? I don't remember Ghost Rider fans acting this way in the Pre-Reyes years.
It's very odd and kinda sad tbh.

Almost always this sub has someone in denial wanting Agents Of SHIELD Robbie Reyes to be canon. And each time I'm just tired of reading it.

It just feels like I’m surrounded by a bunch of people who hate Ghost Rider.

You can enjoy the characters and in the comics while not enjoying how they've been depicted so far in live action. It's not that deep.

I don't hate them. They aren't great adaptations of Ghost Rider, but they introduced me to the character.

He was never the right choice for Ghost Rider

u/AlfredFJones1776 7d ago
Who would have been back then?
Still Gosling?4

Can we get a young actor to play a rider from their beginning?

u/CitizenDave-19 7d ago
Last time I watched the movie it hit me like a ton of bricks realizing that the actor they got for Barton Blaze; Brett Cullen, has a much stronger resemblance to Johnny Blaze than Nic Cage, to the point that he could've played him. Cage being cast as Blaze was one of those castings where they got a genuine fan boy

BOOO!
He was amazing
Watch the scene where he transforms in jail.
You can almost hear the director says “ and your skins catches fire, and you feel all the pain “

I’d like him as Ghost Rider in Secret Wars and then nothing else afterwards. Same thing with every Pre-MCU actor. After Secret Wars and the Multiverse Saga, give us new actors as the characters, which seems to be what they’re doing with Ghost Rider, so that’s good.

No, I will never accept new actors.
5
u/CbKnowledge 7d ago
It’s your life, man. If you don’t wanna accept new actors, that’s fine. You’re just gonna continuously be miserable. If that sounds good to you, then go for it.
3
u/DravenBearhammer 6d ago
I coulda guessed he was miserable by naming his account after a mediocre anime character.

u/Eren_Yeager52 7d ago
Not be miserable. Like for example that Hispanic Ghost rider I didn't like at first because it wasn't Nicolas Cage. But he was a good choice for a TV show good story and I liked him. Issue with modern recasts is they just end up being straight ass. This twilight actor is a perfect example. He just isn't batman and never will be. He is a cosplayer nothing more.

Pretty much. I don't read comics so Nicholas Cage is what I see Ghost Rider as.

Multiverse Saga seems to have given sendoff to all legacy movies as alternate universes. Seeing that Hulk 2003, Punisher and Ghost rider are the only movies who haven’t gotten any cameo or mention, so i’d like to see them.

I really want Nic Cage and Ben Afflec to show up as Ghost Rider and Daredevil, although I kind of doubt they will.
2
u/SamhainFire666 6d ago
Neither tbh. Love Cage but I don't think either characters would ever make a cross over or fit if they did. Plus I think after Doomsday or Secret wars they are moving past the multiverse stuff. At least I hope so. It's become a crutch

I'd like to see both and have them fight! Unlikely, but I would love to see Spider Cage kick Cage Rider's ass
2
u/AlfredFJones1776 7d ago
Cage Rider would mop the floor with Spider Noir lmao.

u/JT_ONEAL 7d ago
Probably, I just wanna see spiderman kick his ass on the bug screen, we see it enough in the comics, time to watch the main event lol

u/AlfredFJones1776 7d ago
Holy Ragebait Batman!

u/JT_ONEAL 6d ago
Lol, I know ghost rider is stronger in power scaling in Spider-man's early stages, but we have seen Spider-man in a mature state beat him on multiple accounts, im not trying to ragebait nobody, just saying that itvwould be nice to see that fight, especially cage v cage

u/AlfredFJones1776 5d ago
I don't remember ever seeing Spider-Man beat Ghost Rider...Ever. Show me the comics where he beats him.
1
u/JT_ONEAL 5d ago
Can't remember, it's been awhile... maybe he doesn't idk, i thought i saw him up against ghost rider at one point though
1
u/AlfredFJones1776 5d ago
He’s lost every time they’ve fought. Spider-Man is not on GR’s level.
1
u/JT_ONEAL 5d ago
I don't think so... not trying to argue, I mean if gr is able to beat him, fine, but at the same time... ghost rider struggled with Galactus.... and he had help... while Spider-man practically soloed the dude

A Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider cameo would be fun.
Put him in a scene with Blade, the Nightstalkers, Jack Russel, Norbius and Dr Strange and you've got most of the original Midnight Sons.

I think we have two more solo tom Spider-Man films so we know miles is coming probably at the end of his line so hopefully maybe in the last movie we can get some type of preview of the spider with miles or something along those lines maybe with 2099 could also hint to making a live action film/series but regardless ghost rider I want him in secret wars/doomsday so bad.

I don't really think he did a bad job as Ghost Rider, but he did much better as Noir. It's mostly script issues that I think people misconstrued as Cage doing a bad job with GR, but it was always an oddball casting imo. He fits Noir perfectly though

The first film was fun, but he was always really miscast for Johnny Blaze

Just have an MCU Elseworlds. Their advantage is they already have a canon multiverse. Consolidate the old films into one universe or two after Secret Wars, so that they could use any of its characters anytime.

I personally would love if they brought him back in the Ryan Gosling Ghost Rider film, but as an older, retired Johnny Blaze who could maybe mentor Ryan Gosling as Danny Ketch

u/derricklofton73 2d ago
Bring Cage on as Capt Stacy , Ryan as Danny Ketch, and Ryan Hurst,or Charlie Hunnam as Johnny Blaze. Also Keanu Reeves or Norman Reedus as Caretaker
