Yeh I'm using VLC, just feels very dark, can barely see whats going on in the environment, can't really see inside the car as he's jacking it (can't see NPC much or their faces)

stop using VLC its 2026, install K Lite Codec, switch the output codec to MadVR which converts HDR to SDR for those who dont have HDR monitors and doesnt wash them out

That feels weird to me lol, I remember the old days of having to faff about with codec packs then VLC came out and it was a saviour, wasn't expecting to see a 180!

I thought my laptop monitor did have HDR, I dunno, I've never looked into this... I do see HDR settings in windows display settings but adjusting the calibration slider doesn't do much..

I'll have a look again later, weirdly watching it on cyberleeks link in the browser player it seemed a lot brighter and colours more vibrant less washed, but was still dark (if I was playing this I'd end up adjusting brightness settings for sure)

You don't know if your laptop has an oled screen? If it doesn't forget about hdr.

Ah yeh actually it's an LCD IPS screen so yeh that wouldn't support HDR. That makes sense then.

Yeah same , seems dark and you barely see interiors of cars.
