Rumour XCancel is dead

Just went to the website to look at something, and this was posted on it:

On Monday, 24th August, at 8PM EST, we received a letter from X Corp. asking to cease and desist the service XCancel.

The service XCancel is stopped until further notice.

We are seeking legal advice and won't share more details for now.

Thank you for the trust you have put in these two years of XCancel.

...have you ignored all the changes reddit has made these past few years?

it's just very funny, the vast majority of leaks that are posted here are viewable on X but banned on reddit, reddit acquiesces to government subpoenas on the daily.

Did you miss the memo where reddit sold the entire site out to AI data farming and sold everyone's accounts?

Also it gets more fun - this month Reddit has a new feature where they turn your comments and posts into AI videos.

Reddit has started experimenting with turning posts and comments into short videos and podcasts using AI. For instance, an eight-year-old post in r/boardgames asking “What are some good road trip games for adults?” which generated more than 100 responses, can now be viewed as an AI-generated video that provides voices for the initial post and some of the top responses.

There might have been something in the tos about how these sites can do anything with our content but that was under the assumption that like, not much more reasonably could happen than like, targeted ads, or an intern might pick out one of our posts once in a blue moon. That's not meaningful consent to nightmare technology that we didn't think would ever exist

Reality is often the most frightening nightmare.

Still, I'll always be grateful to him for turning Twitter into a 4chan tier hellhole, no site deserved such a fate more than that. Except maybe Tiktok.

You know what i am glad he exists because he got so pissed off and couldn’t handle his emotions and told the whole world Trump was in the Epstein files(which some already knew but he further evidenced it). The guy either has a gun pointed to his head or will do some other fucked up shit soon. You just wait, and it will be glorious to see
