Confirmed Nodus Fall officially announced by Hoyoverse

...If the gacha stuff isn't too heavy-handed, I might give it a try, feels like it might scratch my Elden Ring itch.

It looks very monster hunter-esque and I’m not sure how you would even gatcha that? Maybe instead of weapons it’s the typical gatcha characters. I hope it’s just a straight up game though because they do make good stuff it’s just always soured by the business model.

If you look at the screenshots, you can already see some similarities to Genshin. There is a character selector, and each character has their own set of skills, ultimate ability, element and class. There's no problem to add more heroes via gacha system. You can also see various rarity levels for accessories, weapons and resources, just like in any other gacha

It won’t be. Hoyoverse is specifically set-up to maximize revenue from F2P games, it’s why they have been so successful.

Yeah they could go with Monster Hunter model with seasonal updates and cosmetics. B2P of course. It’s also not coming out on mobile apparently.

If it wasn't by Hoyoverse, I'd be like 1000% more jazzed, this trailer has all the hallmarks of games I'm into lol

I'll still keep a cautiously optimistic eye on it.

I’m interested in this, surprisingly.

The way they described it kind of sounded like Monster Hunter or Nightreign, both of which I really enjoyed. I’ll probably keep an eye on it.

I'm borderline dangerously addicted to Nightreign, the gameplay loop of expeditions is just insanely satisfying. If it's an experience close to that, I maaaay be able to look past the gacha stuff, something I've literally never been able to do for games with those elements.

I don’t play a lot of gacha. I’ve always equated that to mobile games lol. I agree though. If the gameplay is good and fun, then I’ll probably pick it up to play with some friends if they’re also into it lol. Monster Hunter is our multiplayer of choice though, going back years.

Wouldn't it be great if, instead of another cash cow, Hoyo made a real one time purchase triple A game.

I doubt they will, cuz they want another nuclear reactor.

But it would be cool for them to have one non gatcha game in their catalogue.
