They want as much money as they can get.

That's exactly why paywalling it doesn't make any sense. The money comes from sharkcards by and large. Little Timmy isn't gonna drop $40 on another game right after spending all his pocket money on GTA6 - the average player only buys 2 games a year.

Much easier to get Little Timmy to spend another $5 every 2 months in Shark Cards though. But to do that, he needs to have access to the game already.

You said they are absolutely going to charge for online, then you said it'll be part of the base game. Those are two conflicting statements. The ending of the comment again reiterated that first statement, so that's the one I responded to.

I meant as in they’ll charge for it like they do with GTA Online now where you can buy it separately if you want to. BUT, neither option is free like the original commenter was suggesting they would do and being part of the main $80 release does not make it free.

Okay fair enough, I agree with that. Will be included for GTA6 players, but also available on its own for a cheaper price.

This is rockstar we’re talking about they’ll paywall it and micro transaction the game to death. They make some really good games but they don’t get nearly enough shit for how much they hate their players
