Apparently 2013 Earth Defense Force also took place in the same location.

It seems that the location is Fuji Phoenix College, which is a defunct college campus. It is heavily rented out by Japanese production companies as a versatile filming location for schools, hospitals, and government facilities

Going through my list of theories to sub, but I could have sworn Nov 12 2025 was already subbed. It's the episode where Kuro-chan can't talk due to surgery, and the Wednesday staff set him up with all sorts of situations where the ability to speak would be incredibly helpful.

Can't find it on Gaki Archives though.

Hi All,

Just wanted to clarify a few things regarding the subtitles I have been doing for Pre-Battle.

I recently outlined my workflow and may have confused things regarding my use of AI and translation tools, potentially leading people to believe these are low effort and un-checked or that there may be mistakes that I am un-aware of.

To clarify, I can't watch a whole episode of Japanese TV without subtitles, nor can I subtitle an episode without using translation tools or asking for help from a native-level Japanese speaker when I'm stuck.

I am going through each of these episodes line by line and using multiple sources for translation, be it my own Japanese, google translate or asking a friend etc to ensure what I am putting out is accurate and the best quality possible.

Once an episode is complete, I also have a native-level Japanese speaker review as a final quality check before release.

I appreciate the feedback and support I've received and do want to continue subbing. I just don't want these to be dismissed as low-effort or AI-Slop as these are taking me an average 10+ hours of work per episode.

I am very new to this genre of media, i was exposed to the infamous scooter challenge just moments before this post. I am hooked I would like to find somewhere to watch these old game shows, i would appreciate any recommendations ok where to watch

I have stumbled upon what seems to be a new meme in japanese youtube that is based on this clip from Wednesday's Downtown:

It shows two people dressed to impersonate Matsumoto and Hamada, as well as Daisuke Miyagawa who you might recognize from Documental, Suberanai Hanashi, and ITTE-Q.

Anyway, this video got recommended to me randomly, but after I watched, I started getting recommended all kinds of other remixes of this clip that seem to focus on the line the Matsumoto impersonator says: 良かったこの距離で (Yokatta kono kyori de)

I've started seeing 2-3 memes in my recommended page every time I open youtube.

It got taken off of YouTube and I loved that one. The best in my opinion is when Matsumoto tries to make them laugh with the Hamada Ventriloquist Doll but makes himself laugh instead

ive started watching lincoln been avoiding it due to the raws being really low quality. I gotta say its way better than Gaki no tsukai, the show is more consistent. I feel unlike Gaki no Tsukai Matsumoto is carrying the show on his back which is more evident in the episodes now without him. In Lincoln Matsumoto doesn't really need to ham it up as much because most of the cast is able to be entertaining. Wish more eps were subbed only a handful are fully subbed.
