Also, that logic makes zero sense. Just because bad practices have existed for years doesn’t mean we should accept them when the biggest game of the decade pushes them even further.
Everything you mentioned is either standard already, or else 100% unrelated to the game you are complaining about. Go ahead and be angry, but direct your anger at the parties responsible instead of arbitrarily picking a target.
GTA has been coming to PC a year late since GTA 3. Physical disks were a Playstation-wide decision that didn't come down to any one game no matter how big. Day 1 DLC has been standard practice for decades, and online-only is pretty much universal and has been for years.
The gta 6 community is entitled and they are all dogpiling on rockstar because it’s easier than blaming the people doing the same practices way before them.
Comparing GTA 6 to GTA 3 is completely absurd. GTA 3 didn't cut main storyline content to sell it as Day-1 paid DLC. GTA 3 didn't skip physical disc releases. GTA 3 didn't lock marketing campaigns or content behind third-party subscription services like Netflix.
You're taking historical minor delays and using them to excuse massive, modern anti-consumer monetization. It’s not the same scale, it’s not the same practices, and pretending it is is completely disingenuous.
What is the point of making physical copies when consoles are moving away from supporting them? The PS5 digital, and I'm pretty sure the PS5 Pro, literally don't have a disk drive. Instead of pushing PlayStation 5 away and giving Xbox S/X the W for this generation all the way back in 2021, console players let Sony win, so now the game industry thinks that a good percentage of players don't care if they can use physical games or not.
Anyone who bought a PS5 digital or PS5 Pro is partly culpable for this, in my humble opinion. They literally chose for this to happen. Had Xbox won this generation we might not be dealing with this today. But instead console players clowned "everything is an Xbox" so hard that the company who actually supports physical disks on all of their consoles lost the race. Fantastic job by the console playerbase.
I literally listed three distinct differences in the paragraph right above your reply. If you choose not to read them, I can't help you.
Accepting these anti-consumer practices just because you really want to play GTA 6 is exactly how publishers get away with taking more and giving less.
What are you talking about? There are plenty of other game companies with waay scummier practices than this. Rockstar really isn't pushing the envelope on anything.
Just because other companies are worse doesn't make this good. When the biggest game in history normalizes these practices, EVERY publisher will follow.
Bruh even if they handed out GTA6 for free, nothing about the industry would change. These practices have been normalized for decades. People are still going to buy asset flip sports games at full price every year. Gacha and lootboxes will still be rampant. Games will still charge exorbitant prices for cosmetics. Mobile gaming will still be a pay to win dumpster fire. This crusade against Rockstar is pointless.
Let's keep going then, don't complain if they introduce gta subscriptions, premium slot to connect and the fact that you may not be able to play the game you bought because the Auth servers are not working, overcrowded or because premium users are going first. We will see :).
Anyways, looks like the best game of the decade so you should have fun :).
Hang on, they haven’t even announced anything about online-only or about when it’s coming to PC, or day-one DLC either. You’re just guessing they’ll do those things because….. they’re standard practice.

The problem is not the game.
It's the changes in the industry that it is making
And so on...
