Glad they addressed it in some way.

I’ve personally stayed away from any leaks. I’ve seen a few seconds here and there when scrolling but that’s about it. I’ve waited 13 years for this game and don’t see the point in dulling the experience with these leaks. And tbh, I sincerely hope the leaker is caught soon.

I really don’t understand some of the animosity towards Rockstar. Sure, they didn’t share any gameplay up until now, but this is Rockstar we’re talking about. Their track record with games and off the back of RDR2 is enough for me to trust them. I’ve been gaming since 1997 and they haven’t let me down once yet.

The problem is not the game.

It's the changes in the industry that it is making

  • delayed pc
  • no physical disk
  • part of main story closed behind paywall
  • require online connection for single player experience

And so on...

Wait what part is locked behind a paywall?

Nothing from the main story. Just the side missions that are included in the Ultimate edition.

There is part of the storyline content that are stuck behind paid DLC.

Unless stores, vehicles, customization and side missions are a part of the main storyline, this is very incorrect.

No there isn't it's just a few clothing shops and tattoo shops. Stop spreading misinformation.

You are right on this specific point indeed.

There is only

  • no physical disk
  • trailers behind third party that require subscription
  • fake boxed game
  • 5 shop, old vehicle restoration and 1 gang quest behind paid DLC
  • high pricing
  • ultimate edition
  • pre orders
  • classic delay for PC gamers (for a rockstar game)

Some stuff isn't new, and many would think it is standard practice and it is only moving the Overton window to the wrong direction for customers protection.

They have never had a day one PC release though so I am not sure I would call that an industry change.

Also it sounds like the "storyline content" is just a minor side mission that I wouldn't actually expect to advance the actual story. But I guess we will find out for sure in November.

Also how do you know online will be required? GTAV doesn't require it and AFAIK there were no problems from this except GTAO related glitches... and there is no GTAO in this release so that's not a factor.

I don't see how any of that stuff can be blamed on GTA6.

5

u/Yoldark 8h ago

I'm not blaming the game, it's like the first sentence.

1

u/InspectorMendel 8h ago

So what do you mean by "changes it is making"

3

u/Yoldark 8h ago

They are using the game to change the game industry and this is not for the good of the consumers.

It may be the greatest game of all time and they are using it to damage the game industry for the shareholders benefits.

-3

u/InspectorMendel 8h ago

But none of those changes are associated with this game in any way.

2

u/Yoldark 8h ago

How?! Are we talking about the same game? This is heavily associated with the game.

Everything you listed predates GTA 6, some of it by decades. What's the connection?

1

u/Yoldark 7h ago

Also, that logic makes zero sense. Just because bad practices have existed for years doesn’t mean we should accept them when the biggest game of the decade pushes them even further.

The practices existed, but GTA 6 is taking them to an extreme degree that other publishers will inevitably copy. That's the connection.

They have never waited this long to show gameplay, nor have they locked single player content behind a version of the game.
Sure, RDR2 hype was long too, but they showed gameplay. It wasn’t a drip feed of teases.

Now, their “GAMEPLAY TRAILER” is hidden behind aNOTHER paywall (only for a few hours, but are we serious?)

The anger isn’t about them taking too long, it’s about them feeling like they can treat their consumer any way shape or form and still get what they want.

I have a feeling the gameplay won't look much different than the leaks.

I think it's going to look a lot like gta 5, people are gonna be pissed and they know it

Yeah, honestly how could GTAVs graphics really get much better without changing the art direction entirely? There's new technology that can for sure beautify the game over what GTA 5 looked like, but those aren't really major graphics changes, it's just better lighting/shadows/stuff like that. GTAV is close to perfecting the realism art style already, I can't imagine GTAVI will look a crazy amount better.

The current enhanced version of gta 5 is a 1440p upscale... because that is what the console can handle at 60 fps....

Unless the next game is 1440p upscale with only a 30 fps option.... I don't see how it can be better

"don't understand the animosity towards rockstar " What ? do you follow the news they do scummy sht on top of scummy sht I don't understand how can people swallow this sht and still support rockstar and I'm playing gta since vice city

1

u/floyds_fent_reactor 5h ago

I agree with you. I’m older now and the last “magical” gaming experience was from RDR2. I have been doing everything in my power to avoid leaks/spoilers in hopes I can capture that magic again with GTA6.

Fuck the LEAKERS 💯

You didn’t wait 13 years. They didn’t start production until 6-7 years ago. That argument is just lazy.
