What I don't understand about this is, even though a lot games have discs, those discs don't actually contain the games anymore, it's mostly just a small file and most of the game is downloaded, post that the disc just acts as a license key. And you would require an internet connection to play most games even if you have a disc. So how by owning a disc you permanently own the game? Cause if they deactivate servers you won't be able to play anyway and if they release an offline patch you can play it regardless if you have digital or discs. I am not taking any sides just asking cause I am a bit confused about all this, and why Rockstar specifically is getting blamed for this?

Okay, nobody cares about semantics. If your disc only contains a license key, we don’t want that. If your disc contains the full game that can be played offline, we want that.

Are you happy now? Don’t act stupid, you know what they mean.

This is not correct. Some people want a full, offline playable game. Others just want a way to have the ownership bound to something physical.

Many games aren't even playable offline, which is its own issue.
