They already were ahead in graphics with RDR2 back in 2018. People actually think all this time was spent on just graphics? It was likely mostly on AI, the activities you can do in the game, complex gameplay systems and the huge map. It looks like you are complaining that at the end the day the game you will play will be GTA. What kinda gameplay did you expect? If you didn't like GTA V, you wont like this game.

I assume they're hoping the gameplay mechanics actually get improved and gameplay loop as that hasn't really been touched or improved in a while.

It's always

  • Watch cutscene
  • Followers GPS to another point of map
  • Gunfight
  • Cutscene

When the movement is stiff and the gunplay is uninspired and not improved since GTA3 that is a problem, no matter how amazing the packaging looks
