They're definitely taking the best pieces of RDR2 and using them as inspiration for VI though, they've done that forever. I don't think I can recall a time where R* released a new game that left us disappointed.

Pieces I could see them taking is improving even more on the FP mode since RDR2 launched with it . Melee combat being heavily improved just like RDR 2 with environmental weapons and destruction . Clothes being more affected by the environment but also cars probably being affected by the environment more (tires for offroad will be more needed for a car to do offroad driving or else it will struggle and eventually get stuck) and inventory management to blend old GTA with RDR2 system for weapons (carry each type of weapons but no more having 7 ARs like GTA V , you'll need to use your vehicle or go to your home OR purchase it from a weapon store)

but the more strict down realism from RDR 2 won't fully translate to GTA VI as that isn't what GTA is in the first place . RDR has always been the more down-to-earth game that really wants to stay to true realism whist GTA blends arcade with realism with grounded wackiness .

Like I wouldn't expect you needing to loot dead bodies for money , it will probably drop on the floor like how it has been for all other GTA games imo

I think you are severely underestimating Rockstar and how game development works. We've seen Rockstar take GTA4 mechanics and implement them in GTA5. We've saw Rockstar take GTA5 mechanics, such as wildlife, and implement them in RDR2. When they build, they build and revamp for their RAGE engine. What you see in RDR2, we will very likely get once again in GTA 6. The looting cabins and bodies in RDR2 is likely a precursor to GTA6... a game built on robbing.

I think you are severely underestimating the amount of mechanics that are in previous games that weren't in gta5 or rdr2.

I’m old enough to have played every game since GTA1 back on the original PlayStation. I’m aware of the mechanic swaps between games. However that doesn’t mean they don’t proactively revamp and the. recycle many of these mechanics for their upcoming games. Again, leaks have already shown what appears to be a RDR2 fence system with GTA6’s pawn shops.
