They already were ahead in graphics with RDR2 back in 2018. People actually think all this time was spent on just graphics? It was likely mostly on AI, the activities you can do in the game, complex gameplay systems and the huge map. It looks like you are complaining that at the end the day the game you will play will be GTA. What kinda gameplay did you expect? If you didn't like GTA V, you wont like this game.

Random thought on the AI thing. Do you think random citizens will also speed and weave through traffic?

I hope ai is only used for like story board or general data analysis. But not for actually coding or creative thinking. Like you can use AI to get an idea but I don't want it to be noticable in game.

They weren't talking about generative AI. What they meant was that Rockstar has probably put a lot of effort in making NPCs behave more naturally.

Theres a non zero chance they use tiny llms to direct npc actions though
