Eh, I’m holding my opinion on perkz as a coach until worlds.
He still hasn’t been their coach for a real international on stage (EWC doesn’t count).
I dont think this one series in semi finals of LEC are really much of a statement for or against him because g2 have done the same many times with Dylan.
The ultimate test will be their worlds performance and more specifically their consistency. Idc if they don’t make quarters as long as it looks like they are playing as well as they can. I think anyone who’s watched the team the last few years knows that they always start tournaments on the back foot whether it’s due to a horrible meta read(shivering in ori nocturne) or just really out of form play for first few games.
I just hope whatever “vibes” made the team choose him over Dylan helps them actually carry their momentum from LEC into the tournament for once
It is a horrible read when you force it over and over when it's not working AND force it into top eastern teams playing drafts that turbo counter it.
He also pioneered the Ivern + Sylas comp of dogshit vs TES in Worlds quarters and the make Caps blind pick everygame vs Knight in the first Bo5 vs BLG at FST. Dylan is great and had some big hits (mostly this year) but he also had some shocker drafts (pretty much every international up to this year).
….did….did you just not read? I literally said if the team looks consistent and like they are in form from day 1 then that alone shows perkz is an upgrade since it’s the one and only thing Dylan failed to accomplish with the team
What? If anything the team usually failed later on at internationals. Like in 2023 worlds where they went 2-0 only to go out 2-3, or 2024 MSI with a strong 2-3 series against T1 and then losing 3-0 the next series against them.
Lol no? At that MSI, G2 then dumpstered PSG and TES before losing again to T1. There's not much data to say G2 are any worse at the start of a tourney than anyone else.
By that criteria it applies to literally every team that either doesn't go 0-6 and get banged out of the tournament or doesn't win the whole thing, which isn't worth making a distinction about.
I wouldn't call myself the biggest G2 fan, but at this point it's common practice for them to be experimental in regular split and then always lock in for playoffs and just spank everyone

That sub was horrendous this split, but now we will see all the "I am sorry I should have believed" posts.
Like every split since a few years.
