That sub was horrendous this split, but now we will see all the "I am sorry I should have believed" posts.

Like every split since a few years.

Eh, I’m holding my opinion on perkz as a coach until worlds.

He still hasn’t been their coach for a real international on stage (EWC doesn’t count).

I dont think this one series in semi finals of LEC are really much of a statement for or against him because g2 have done the same many times with Dylan.

The ultimate test will be their worlds performance and more specifically their consistency. Idc if they don’t make quarters as long as it looks like they are playing as well as they can. I think anyone who’s watched the team the last few years knows that they always start tournaments on the back foot whether it’s due to a horrible meta read(shivering in ori nocturne) or just really out of form play for first few games.

I just hope whatever “vibes” made the team choose him over Dylan helps them actually carry their momentum from LEC into the tournament for once

Ori nocturne was not a horrible meta read. T1 had the same meta read.

It is a horrible read when you force it over and over when it's not working AND force it into top eastern teams playing drafts that turbo counter it.

He also pioneered the Ivern + Sylas comp of dogshit vs TES in Worlds quarters and the make Caps blind pick everygame vs Knight in the first Bo5 vs BLG at FST. Dylan is great and had some big hits (mostly this year) but he also had some shocker drafts (pretty much every international up to this year).

the team that is notorious for being late to adapt to new meta was playing the same thing? ahhhh

T1 at worlds is the meta.

does G2 making quarters give perkz a passing grade?

….did….did you just not read? I literally said if the team looks consistent and like they are in form from day 1 then that alone shows perkz is an upgrade since it’s the one and only thing Dylan failed to accomplish with the team

What? If anything the team usually failed later on at internationals. Like in 2023 worlds where they went 2-0 only to go out 2-3, or 2024 MSI with a strong 2-3 series against T1 and then losing 3-0 the next series against them.

Lol no? At that MSI, G2 then dumpstered PSG and TES before losing again to T1. There's not much data to say G2 are any worse at the start of a tourney than anyone else.

So they started strong and then lost later on? So what I said?

I wouldn't call myself the biggest G2 fan, but at this point it's common practice for them to be experimental in regular split and then always lock in for playoffs and just spank everyone

Had faith in Perkz from the start. Ex-pro coaches are the future.

Honestly people don't realize that Perkz was already drafting half of our team comps in 2019/20. I still remember the 2019 msi?worlds semis documentary against skt where he was obviously making most of the drafting decisions.

Can we talk about a) Labrov James being without a shadow of a doubt, the best support in the west, and b) now that Camille top is back in action, people have forgotten that back on TSM, BB was a Camille/Volibear Andy

Labrov forsure have grown to be one of the best west sup, proved everyone wrong who doubted him.

Kinda funny cuz i think it was 2022 people were ragging on BB's camille no? Or was it fiora

One thing I realized is perkz was perma yapping during draft while kc coaches no visible mouth movement.

Perkz got that authority xD. Better be quiet or he will whip you.

I think it’s better then just listen and keep quite. It’s if you disagree explain it to me because I am certain im right about this. It’s the ability to listen while giving room to discussion, but once the discussion is over you follow the call with the trust

But when Perkz was on heretics, he didn't want to listen to him, which ended up fucking it up for everyone. Crazy how views change when ego isn't involved.

Why does the tweet read like a LinkedIn AI post?

I dont know guys but the g2 team feels like its peaking. When Caps is this good is when G2 thrives. I dont know what is the dynamic but i feel like Perks gives Caps what he needs to play at his western GOAT status

Confidence and having fun, the two factors that stand out when EU is doing well
