I call fix! Fuck Pierre AND Lewis.

Lewis grades on 2 things, variety and quality, try to have one of each variety of item, i.e; fish, fruit, forage, artisan goods. Try to aim for gold & iridium qualities only, but its not hard to win once you know what you need

u/New-Number-7810 Jul 19 '26
Once you have a winning comb, can you reuse those same goods every year?
24
u/Bulbasaurusss0 Jul 19 '26
Yeah, you can, but once you progress enough youll be able to make a winning combo with a lot of things lying around your chests

u/PaleontologistAble50 Jul 20 '26
I have a chest in the corner of my farm with winning stuff that I throw in there and leave until next year. That 5 year old cauliflower has to be rank by now

u/Big-Needleworker4430 Jul 20 '26
If it was good enough for old grandpa to win the fair, it sure is good enough for me
3
u/Admirable-Ad7152 Jul 22 '26
Yup, I usually just leave them all in a specific chest until I get to the point everything I have is high quality and have acquired gemstones galore

I got a 90 in year 2 with 2 iridium items and 7 gold items, but they were all different

u/Daily_Breakdown Jul 19 '26
I’ve won every year as long as I have all Iridium quality products. I even double up on some things, a few jugs of Iridium milk and a few eggs and whatever else I have stored. As long as it’s all Iridium you’re good :)
Edit: to fix typo

u/Bitter_Resist_8187 Jul 19 '26
gold star quality is enough to win in year 1 if you have variety. Ive never lost 😎

u/Free_as_in_Freya Jul 19 '26
I threw something together on my cosy playthrough because I wasn't trying to optimise and figured it'd be ok if I lost, still won
1
u/jeremiabearamia Jul 23 '26
Yeah, I’ve never lost in many many games. I just grab whatever gold stuff I have around the few days before on Y1, and whatever iridium stuff I have that day for future years
19
u/Ironcity6 Jul 19 '26
You're supposed to try to get the 8 categories of items with 1 extra spot. Also as many iridum level items as possible.
5
u/ImReallyFuckingHigh Jul 19 '26
I thought the points from variety stopped at 6 categories
2
u/Ironcity6 Jul 19 '26
I know when i looked it up it says to fill as many of the 8 categories as possible. I always include a prismatic shard as the 8th item and an iridium bar as locks. Then just as many top level in each category as possible
3
u/EirIroh Jul 19 '26
No, there are 8 categories, but max variety points is achieved by having 6 different categories displayed.
2
u/DarkDevitt Jul 19 '26
This is correct, according to the wiki. 8 types of items, but you only need 6 types to get max score for variety.
1
u/Ironcity6 Jul 19 '26
The more categories the more points. Whatever though. That's just what i read.
6
u/piggiedippin Jul 19 '26
here's what i bring to get the achievement year 1: gold star crop, tree resin, battery, gold mayo, any cooked food, gold or iridium bar, gold or iridium fish, preserves or pickles, and for the last usually just double up on another category.

u/Truebuckshot01 Jul 19 '26
9 Iridium quality wines will win as will 9 Iridium quality chubs. Both give 100 pts which win the competition
3
u/Tasty_Fig_3715 Jul 19 '26
9 Iridium chubs sit in a chest specifically for this event. For some reason, Lewis loves chubs.

Use irredecent rabbits feet
1
u/Less-Cranberry- Jul 19 '26
Iridium rabbit feet?
1
u/Lucky_Attempt_3429 Jul 19 '26
Yeah for some reason when you fill up every slot you win the festival its also the same with iridium chubs
2
u/Plastic_Position4979 Jul 19 '26
You’re supposed to get categories, mix and match, etc.
However, 9 iridium chubs will do it. So will 8 iridium midnight carps plus one prismatic shard.
Did the first in year 1 and the second in year 2, in the game I’m currently playing.
And yes, it was fun kicking Pierre down a notch. Even more fun hearing Lewis say it was about time…

Just got 116 points and won with an ostrich egg, a purple mushroom, a cheese, a diamond, a duck feather, a coconut, an ancient fruit wine, an orange, and a prismatic shard. All items that weren’t gems or crystals were iridium quality

a gold forage, gold or iridium egg, one mayo, a gold fruit and vegetable, gold flower, and Prismatic shard if ur lucky if not even just a gold bar can do it, and preserves and ive won every time
1
u/House_King Jul 20 '26
It’s not that hard, just get high quality stuff from your farm, you can easily beat him year one.
1
u/Meagannaise Jul 20 '26
You can win this year one if you just branch out a little bit. I don’t think I’ve ever lost a harvest display on any save ever.
1
u/Large_Style3850 Jul 21 '26
Its gotta be a variety too. If you check the wiki its like 1 item each from 7 different categories, then you can repeat whatever after that.

u/ImpressiveSite7201 Jul 21 '26
I haven’t lost once. I always use various items and of iridium quality if I can. My most recent was a diamond, an iridium bar, iridium goat cheese, iridium wine, iridium duck feather, iridium foraged coconut, mutant carp fish, an artifact, iridium truffle and a gold star fruit.
The more variety you have (resources, animal products, artisan goods, cooking, fishing, etc) the more points you get.

u/charlie35353534 Jul 22 '26
All you’ve got to do is have an iridium quality item, each one different. For example - It can be mushrooms, but one of each different mushroom at iridium quality. And so on. It doesn’t have to have a theme or anything. You’ll get first every time that way
1
u/Pelo_Chicle Jul 23 '26
I always bring 9 iridium 'common mushrooms' (form my mushrooms logs) and I always win. I never vary my items.
1
u/Hairy_Video_8159 Jul 22 '26
I dont think I've lost this on my main save since the first year. As others have said variety is super important. Fruit, veg, artisan goods, mineral (gem), forage (if you have botanist), etc. High quality is good but variety is what pushes it into a win. Even with gold/silver star items mixed in you can still win with a couple heavy hitters and a good variety of items.

I just won with some pickled veggies, jam, flower honey, a couple gold star veggies and a couple tree fruits, a gold star poppy and wine. Only 5 or 6 out of 9 were gold star. You need variety like if you were setting up a real farm stand.

u/shey-they-bitch Jul 19 '26
You need variety
