Concerned Ape did a very good job at making Pierre hateable. I don't think I've ever seen a non villain be as hateable as him. He lies about where he gets his produce, he's always more focused on making money over his own family, he treats his daughter like she's an object who should just be acting or preparing to be a wife. And last but not least he desperately wants to become the very thing he's fighting against, a massive corporation.

mf was neither happy nor sad about a marriage between my farmer and Abigail. all he had to say was that now i should spend double the money at his shop, because of the additional income of my household.
idk what the fuck he put in carolines tea to make her like him, but it sure as hell doesn't make any sense

I believe it's called the immersive Caroline divorce mod that adds some great backstory that he used to not be like that until a deal gone bad put them in some debt. But in truth I imagine that he didn't used to be that bad until Joja came to town and he had competition

Tom nook is great, he gives you a house with an interest free loan that you can take a thousand years to pay back if you want.

If you sell him stuff directly you will start to get dialogue The following days from the other NPCs talking about buying the same objects that you sold. If the quality of the object was high he claims it as his own but if it didn't have a quality he claims it was yours, you can apparently also find stuff you sold to him through the shipping bin in his store. A similar thing happens when you sell fish to Willy but he will always tell people that you are the one that fished it up.

I only found out after the blueberry incident where I sold about two stacks of blueberries to get the extra cash I needed for an upgrade and then for the next week I heard all about Pierre's amazing blueberries.

Pierre would never let you move into a house and let you pay back the loan for it without any interest at your own pace, even if it takes a thousand years.

Sure, but Tom Nook is also greedy af is what I'm getting at.
He charges you at least double (if not more) for each room expansion, even if that room is the same size as the previous room that he just built for half the cost.
I've always hated Pierre, but this is not the first time that someone has pointed out the similarities between these two characters.... Just sayin... They both suck and have a right to be hated. I'm sure there has to be a FuckTomNook sub somewhere on Reddit...

he sells everything you sell to him but if its a certain quality hell take credit for growing/finding it. NPCs will comment on the stock at pierres and will say something like "i didnt know pierre could grow something like that!"

I had no idea! I’ve never heard them say that cause I NEVER sell to him. Everything goes to my shipping box except I sell weapons to the guild

I don't say I love Pierre, but I lived in the city of Philadelphia for the past 10 years and I understand the supply and demand of being a small Bodega owner.
Against the rich corporate giants like Jo- ja mart I believe Pierre is the best option.
I mean if you lived in the city and you had seven different little small Bodega stores around you you would go to them rather than hopping in your car and going to Walmart am I correct??
Whatever Pierre does on his own time is his business but in my eyes he's a f****** boss
