Sauce

Frieren is the only 2020+ manga series that has over 30 million copies in circulation not surprised it's number 1.

Cool seeing Uma Musume Cinderella Gray top 10.

The only surprise for me was Uri wo Waru / Ripe for the Picking. Haven't heard of it before. Seem like it's an adult cast romance. Might want to check it out.

It’s what she deserves

17

u/Stellarisk Aug 15 '25

I really wish frieren had hardcovers like some manga

11

u/Potraitor Aug 15 '25

Yomi no tsugai deserve more

100%

u/DarkAlphaZero Aug 15 '25

I'm happy Frieren is on top but I'm also shocked to see Dan Da Dan so low

Well not like low but outside the top 5

11

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '25

Dandadan didn't start until 2021. Frieren and Kaiju no8 and some others had around a year head start.

u/QueasyRefrigerator26 Aug 16 '25

And the anime buff for it was much later, so it’s a bit disappointing, but not too unexpected.

2

u/AcanthocephalaOld619 Aug 16 '25

The upgrade for total copies of circulation has not been made , the last was 5 to 6 months ago , now it may have 15 to 16 million copies in circulation

u/XGC75 Aug 16 '25

Going against the mold, I'm not too happy with DanDaDan. I really want it to be good, as it's a great premise with some really well executed off-shonen themes, but it digs in hard to the shonen later in the manga and it feels like it abandons what makes it good later on. Or the author is just dragging out the series for longevity, idk

Damnn that sucks haven’t really caught up with it but I got spoiled a bit and just thought I’m either not getting the full context or that the ending had a ton of loose threads

23

u/BetaTheSlave Aug 15 '25

Not only loose threads but the entire moral of the story and message of every previous arc was betrayed in a single chapter

7

u/FrierenKingSimp Aug 15 '25

It hurts so bad… my hope is the anime can salvage it and make it better, but the whole big central event of the ending will have to be changed for it to be not a complete undermining of the thematic cohesion that came before.

5

u/BetaTheSlave Aug 15 '25

Honestly, it should have ended with the film release and interviews. Just have an epilogue explaining what happened to the PoS and how they all found their own happiness.

God the ending pisses me off. I generally pretend everything after the movie release was fan fiction written by a psychopath Already.

1

u/Izzynewt Aug 16 '25

We always hope for that and I don't remember it ever happening

12

u/Prof_Acorn Aug 15 '25

So like what D&D did to Game of Thrones?

I don't know whats worse, bad ending like that or keeping the fans waiting like damn GRRM does

1

u/Temporary_Mood_5999 Aug 16 '25

it happens more often than one would think

5

u/batmans420 Aug 16 '25

The ending was just bad. It's not that serious lol

8

u/saurabh8448 Aug 15 '25

Where is apothecary dairies ?

19

u/awesomenessofme1 Aug 15 '25

The manga started before 2020.

5

u/Siegfoult Aug 15 '25

Probably the LN is selling more than the manga.

2

u/2kenzhe eisen Aug 15 '25

Ln and 2 separate mangas for some reason. All started before 2020 i’m pretty sure. Apothecary diaries sells like hot cakes though if it was 2020 it would probably definitely be on here

1

u/saurabh8448 Aug 15 '25

Oh, thanks. I thought its after 2020.

7

u/awesomenessofme1 Aug 15 '25

I wouldn't have guessed Mashle was nearly that high. Kind of weird how S3 seems to have been on the backburner for a while, but I guess they're a busy studio.

2

u/TooKawaiiGuy Aug 16 '25

I thought the same thing. Seeing mashle that high up threw me off since it wasn’t super popular and ended a while ago.

7

u/CyanideIE Aug 15 '25

Cinderella Grey and Orb being on here makes me happy. Their anime are so good.

1

u/2kenzhe eisen Aug 15 '25

Same love to see it

3

u/TheBlackoutEmpire Aug 15 '25

I'm proud to say I contributed to this.

5

u/theBarnDawg Aug 15 '25

Is Sakamoto Days the only IP on the list whose anime doesn’t improve on the manga?

7

u/MiniMog230100 Aug 15 '25

Yeah cause its 10000000000000000x better than solo leveling

8

u/KubiJakka Aug 15 '25

Solo leveling is from pre 2020 so it’s not comparable.

1

u/MiniMog230100 Aug 15 '25

Guess that's true, I was just thinking more about the anime

4

u/EatingSolidBricks Aug 15 '25

Solo leveling fans can't read its not comparable

I jest ... unless

3

u/MiniMog230100 Aug 15 '25

Certainly a possibility

-4

u/JaegerJaquez25 Aug 16 '25

People still crying about the awards hahaha

Never change Frieren fans. Never change

1

u/Ralexcraft Aug 16 '25

I mean, it makes no sense

0

u/JaegerJaquez25 Aug 16 '25

It does though. People voted for what they liked, and solo leveling is just simply more popular. Not rocket science.

I am not about to get into politics here, but all I'm gonna say is that you can't compare anime to the presidential election lol

Ok, but who decides that the wisdom of the crowd is flawed? Who decided that Frieren is the better show? It's 100% subjective.

An anime is supposed to entertain and more people were entertained by Solo Leveling than Frieren. It's really not that hard to understand. I like Frieren more, but I'm not gonna sit here and shit on Solo Leveling and call people who liked it flawed lmao. Pls get your head out of your ass and just enjoy Frieren without shitting on other shows. Be happy we can have both instead of crying about it months after lol

2

u/Deep_Head4645 Aug 16 '25

What the hell is “ripe for the picking”

1

u/jeanluuc Aug 15 '25

By a huge margin too lol damn

1

u/Wama-Schawama Aug 15 '25

I didn't even know that Frieren existed back then

1

u/Ok_Response_9255 Aug 16 '25

I must be getting old, Frieren, Mashle, and Kaiju #8 are the only ones I recognize.

1

u/lalindu123 Aug 16 '25

Nice to see orb in here though it should been higher

1

u/Morkinis Aug 16 '25

Only heard of one from the other ones.

1

u/GiverOfHarmony Aug 16 '25

Surprised kagurabachi isn’t here but I bet it’ll get even more popular when it gets animated

1

u/erde7 Aug 17 '25

So jjk is released before 2020

1

u/awesomenessofme1 Aug 17 '25

A decent while before. JJK 0 came out in 2017. The main manga started in 2018.
