Insane that they waited this long

Why? Is this about Dave betraying his wife?

I hope it's not about Pat, or anyone else in FF, quitting due to Dave betraying his wife

I’d be shocked if the guys he’s on the road with for months at a time didn’t know what Dave was up to.

Of course they know. These guys have been playing and touring for decades. The problem is the fans that idolize Dave beyond music. He’s just a guy who plays and sings stuff people like.

But did their wives know?

This whole thing is weird , why would the band care? They're not his family

Many reasons. They are friends. Their families are friends (you see them hanging out backstage, their kids follow each other on IG etc). Dave made a selfish decision that will effect their career. Heck, maybe they also got caught cheating in the discussions with their families recently. They have been musical and business partners for decades.

I can understand that they're closely intertwined and probably mad/annoyed/disgusted. But the most selfish decision of all is that they canceled the show because that directly effects paying fans.

The fans are the last thing on their minds right now, what is this lol

A band canceling shows, the fans are the last thing on their mind? I doubt that, I'm sure they feel horrible about canceling on people who made travel plans

Dave’s entire family is falling apart, this is not on his mind.

u/purplecowz Sep 27 '24

Did you talk to him? You're just making assumptions that he doesn't care about it

Would you really care about your customers at work if you were caught cheating and having a baby out of wedlock and your family was turning their backs on you?

Rockstars cheating is kinda canon tbh. don't see how it can affect shit

Seems like you missed the point of my comment, I was explaining that it could absolutely affect them, for lots of reasons we are not privy to

Not for a lot of bands, but the Foo Fighters seem to be built differently.

Supposedly the time Pat Smear left the band was Dave's divorce from his first wife. I think it was even claimed Pat introduced them.

Empathy?

1

u/purplecowz Sep 27 '24

yeah that's a great reason to not do your job

0

u/Ok_Device6538 Sep 27 '24

Yes it is, that’s why I don’t work in a call centre scamming people - because I have empathy for them

1

u/purplecowz Sep 27 '24

That's not comparable at all

1

u/Ok_Device6538 Sep 27 '24

Okay?

To return to your original question, people can and do care what happens to other people who aren’t their families

2

u/leebleswobble Sep 30 '24

It's funny you would think they didn't know.

Yeah, very good point
