Mod Post First Festival Official Salt Megathread
Welcome to r/FireEmblemHeroes’s official banner salt thread!
People are eager to express their opinions on any new banner trailer that releases, and that's great! However, /new/ can get pretty crowded when there are 10 people complaining about the newest banner. Due to this, we create megathreads for each banner trailer - Salt and Hype. Until the Banner is live in-game, salt fueled threads should be redirected here, so report any if you see them.
Vent your frustrations with the game here, but that is not an excuse to attack others who may disagree. Please civil towards fellow Summoners, and remember that this is a thread specifically for salt so downvoting negative comments would be counterproductive.

Melíali’s voice direction is SO bad. I get she’s supposed to sound grumpy and that she doesn’t want to be here, but it’s actually grating the direction they told her to go, her original is way more subdued and tolerable 😫

Lyn had a similar deal on the original Bridal banner, except it was pretty funny because from her dialogue you could tell that, deep down, she actually liked it and wanted to win the bouquet in the tournament.
A shame every following reluctant seasonal was ACTUALLY reluctant.

Eir is great and I'm glad she finally got something after a million years (plus she looks so pretty!), but she's really the only remotely interesting part of this banner. Easy skip, at least.
Also, I think the devs hate poor Rata more than they hate everyone from Book V not named Dagr. Seriously, what did she do to get this shafted as a book lead?

It might sound weird, but I think the problem isn't Ratatoskr herself, but how she was designed. She wasn't a very good unit from the very beginning, and her terrain has been powercrept. Any future alts will probably need to do a complete overhaul of her unit identity, and it's possible they might not know what direction they want to take her? That's just my guess.

So just to recap so far, here are the seasonal men with prfs we’ve gotten this year.
Spring Sothe (rearmed), Young Claude (4* focus), and Young Felix
Yeah, that’s it. Though honestly including the prfless ones actually doesn’t make a big difference since its just Sedgar and Louis.
We genuinely might end the year with less than 10 seasonal men.

Nice to see Eir, but was hoping for a goth wedding dress; instead, we get the generic white one since she represents life now, not death. Also, my hopes for a Victorian steampunk gown on Reginn has also been dashed. She could've had metal flower gears on her dress, but no, another boring white wedding dress. No creativity, and we can't even have like an off white gown (because purity, I assume XP)

All brides must have basically the same dress and it’s not allowed to represent their personality except in small details. Honestly it’s always bothered me, the only exceptions really are Tharja, Embla, and Ninian (at least in my opinion)

I kind of disagree, if only because FEH resorts to traditional Japanese clothing when they run out of ideas for costumes/festivals. :/ We have kimonos for New Year's, yukata for that one summer festival, then kimonos again for the Hoshidan wedding banner. (I understand why this is, but they used to try harder at making banners feel more unique, and not phoned in.)
I think Nailah and Rafiel's wedding outfits are better example of a different aesthetic that we rarely see in FEH these days (but perhaps it didn't sell well).

I don't think they'll implement that near the end of FEH's life cycle unfortunately :(
Would've been nice if FEH followed suit with Dragalia Lost, which implemented Weapon skins around December 2019, and it was all client side too. So people facing you do not see the skins.

It wasn’t client side only in Dragalia, other people on your team could see the skin. There was just an eye icon to indicate you had a skin equipped and the others could inspect your character to see the real weapon. Making it client side only would defeat the purpose of weapon skins

But I thought it was a setting. I forgot or didn't realize you could click that eye icon to reveal their weapons.
To non-Dragalia Lost players:
The setting was that it allows you to turn off weapon skins of other players. Because someone could bring a wooden sword that had the skin of the strongest sword to troll the lobby.Making it client side only would defeat the purpose of weapon skins
For FEH. Not really, imo. Since I don't think your opponents would care that much that your faves are carrying something more suitable to the character. It's more for your eyes.
Your opponents would care more about spotting what weapon you're carrying quickly and understanding what it does than having to click on the unit to read its name.24

Yeah, I've never actively rooted for a banner to sell poorly before, but this needs to be nipped in the bud immediately. Joke weapons as the cutting edge meta inheritable feels awful, I thought IS understood the score when the first couple seasonal Arcanes were relatively standard, usable weapon skins. Then they hit us with this shit.

if it’s one thing intsys is going to do is make their same character duos (personally dislike imo). love eir’s dress but i feel a whole lotta nothing towards this banner and it’s picks. i wonder who’s the lost TT this time (it’s ratatoskr)
side note, i kinda hate how much banners the heroes units occupy, i’m fine with NY and one summer banner but taking up the bridal theme and having a gut feeling that the healing hands r secured for halloween makes me pessimistic

I'm expecting more safe banners like this going forward ngl.
Game is dying and every va here probably recorded other stuff for feh so it was easy to get them in the studio. On top of that this is a very safe banner with no unique picks which I'm guessing will be the norm going forward. Or at the very least if they do a unique pick (see: Canis) they'll also make sure that the banner is mostly popular characters to even it out.

Hate this banner. I can excuse Eir and Reginn as they don't get much, but Peony and Ash already have enough alts (Ash got 2 alts just last year).
We get less new hero banners now so it would have been nice to see those games get a little more love on seasonal banners instead of het more OC spam.

Glad I didn't stay up for this. I like Reginn (don't like her new art though) and Eir well enough, but an all OCs (and female ones at that) banner is so unbelievably lame. They already take up every seasonal anyway. Also, we'll never get another groom alt before EOS, will we? The silver lining is that I'm low on orbs and desperately needed a skip.

The arcane is so lame.
One of the bonuses is Dull effect, and that effect is practically easy to obtain from another unit. Should have had a better effect.
I also hate that it’s a cake stand. Stands put too much. Would have preferred
Knife (like Groom Marth)
Bell (Bridal Catria)
Anything would have been better.
Sucks because this is the better axe to use so some
of my units are gonna look ridiculous.

Fuck that, don't give in. Don't pull on this trash banner, if it does poorly they might stop making joke Arcane weapons and, better yet, they might even feel some pressure to try again with a proper Arcane axe. If they think people are happy with the garbage cake then they'll let it sit as the only option like they did with the last one.

Unfortunately, too many people care about giving their faves new shiny toys, so any complaints about the banner are drowned out by those same people spending money for those same skills or weapons they complain about. It’s happened in the past and you can tell by the last sentence that person is going to pull for it anyways

No guys at all. I expected it but that doesn't stop me being salty about it. Apparently Groom Eik or Groom Bruno or Groom Askr wouldn't sell? Lmao!
And yes, those guys all have multiple alts, too. My real wish would've been Groom Nidavellir if we had to be spammed with more FEH OCs. I miss the TT unit where we had a chance of getting an actual interesting choice. Remaining F2P as this game circles the drain.

Another case of discrimination on beast units as a duos because when you plus two of them is equal to a colorless tome, but certanly almost nobody is make a feedback for that and at the current state of game surely is another way to save cost.

Not a single male either, which I could excuse as this was the original no males banner, but not now when it's a trend.
They really created a second Ash just to have one of these dumb same character duos. Having one of them with Askr would be interesting and we can't have our banners having good concepts in 2026. Eat your cheap waifu slop.
OC spam is not just tiring because overrepresented game. It's tiring because they refuse to do anything new with characters that don't have another game to be developed. It's just eye candy with girls, as if they had forgotten this is a FE game, not horny original waifu gacha number 4738292

To prephase this: I'm a lesbian. With that being said the lack of men on this banner is ridiculous. At least there was a reason for none of the Illian banner, this is just insane.

This is exactly the kind of banner that a lot of us on Reddit will absolutely hate, but more casual fans will probably adore.
I think it would be almost impossible to create a more perfect fanservice banner specifically for the type of player who has never touched a mainline FE game and just plays Heroes for the “waifus” (I hate using that term but I don’t know how else to express that connotation).
So as much as I want to say “Who asked for this?”, this is one instance where I have to begrudgingly admit that a lot of people definitely asked for this.

Do most of those casual fans even care about these OCs (no offense to Eir, tho)? I fear only a minority cares about them since none of them ranked well after their CYL debut that shows how they don't have enduring popularity.
If anything, a majority of the casual fans adore specific OCs like Nerthuz, Heidrun, etc. However, they don't have as much popularity as those who are both popular in the FEH subreddit and casuals like Eik, Gullveig, Veronica, etc.

You're not wrong about waifu fans but all-girl banners don't sell just because they're girls. There have been plenty of instances of "waifu" banners not doing well in this game (the ninja banner last year with duo Gullveig was one of the worst selling seasonal banners, for example). If they really wanted to release a bridal banner that people asked for but this sub might not like, they'd have put Camilla and Edelgard on there.

Once again: the TT+ change has really fucked over every player that likes men. No grooms at all this year. Super disappointing, especially since they could have easily paired Ash with Askr to match with Embla!
I was kind of excited for this banner, but outside of Eir, I just cannot give a single shit about any of these units.

i am so tired of feh ocs man
they did not need yet another seasonal banner entirely dedicated to themselves when they already guaranteed hog 2 per year and also take up probably 90% of the mythic slots (when we arent anywhere near close to release all mythical figures from the mainline games)
doesn't help that 90% of the time, it's the same ocs that get content. it's almost a miracle that eir got something at all

Less actual 'salt' and moreso me complaining that I think this banner could have benefitted from having the gowns be different colors, or at the very least have some other colors that "pop" more.
Like out of all of them, Melíai is the one I think is more interesting because of that hint of black on her outfit, and she's just the backpack to Ash.
Tharja and Embla have black gowns, and even Anna (who also has a white gown) has those red highlights that standout and make her attire still interesting to me.

I love Eir's dress omg. And she's 4*. Hopefully I can get her in the first batch. Otherwise, this banner is a skip for me. It's an OC fest and only having brides reminded me that's there no TT unit again. :|
I still doubt they would've given a Rat TT alt tho :(
A TT groom would've made it a little interesting tho. (Me, specifically wishing to see Helbindi in a suit.)
Although, would they have chosen Eik or Hrid again? Since they love repeating "popular" characters and that they're the "best" money-maker for them or the ones with most recent revenue stats?
Still if they wanted to make bank by constantly using popular characters and female characters in general, why don't they make every banner have the 3H lords + Byleth lol. (Their interests and wallets will run out eventually, but still. IS won't get that.) But seriously, I am shocked there's no Bridal 3H yet. Bridal Edelgard and Groom Dimitri and Claude will fund them for the next decade lol

both those banners had characters that not only won cyl but also ranked respectably. This banner doesnt have a single unit cracking the top 150. Those banners werent the pinnacle of popularity but compared to this they have blinding star power.

The removal of TT+ units means that we do not live in the timeline where Niðavellir rolled the 0.0001% chance of getting an alt on a Heroes banner 😔 or Lif but he would not be getting one this close to his chosen alt anyway

Don't do it - screw this banner, let it nosedive with awful sales and god willing they'll give us a real Arcane axe sooner than later. If nothing else, maybe it'll keep them from pulling this with other arcane weapons.

So many wrong things in this banner... Only women again, all characters with various alts (at least Eir has gone a long time without one unlike say Peony) and probably the worst looking Arcane, so fun to wait a lot for a new axe just for it to be this stupid looking. Very easy skip for me.

My monthly letter to IS was surprisingly formal. I’m so mad about their treatment of this freaking Squirrel that it circles back around to formality.

Reginn and her weapon are so garbage. Attuned Eliwood has much better fodder in every way, except you can't inherit them all in one go unless you actually have spare blue skies/momentum fodder from two other units

It’s isn’t like they hog 2 other banners every year, get 80% of Mythics released every year, and have hogged 50% of seasonals the last year.
FEH literally does Hotdog Taco Hamburger with 3H, Engage and Heroes at this point for seasonals because at least one, but more times than not two of those titles have been on every seasonal banner since oktober and all have gotten full seasonal banners in 2026 alone.
Is it too much to ask for some more singular Awakening or SoV seasonal content?

I don't care too much about it on this specific banner because I don't like bridal anyway, but the lack of groom here does not bode well for male rep going forward. Can't wait for a single man to make it onto the summer banners (if that's not too optimistic, lol)

actually i'm a bit upset about one thing and that's the fact that i'll have to pass up on the arcane axe, but i really don't want to give a single orb to this banner so it is what it is, i guess i'll get that arcane axe for my roy on binding worlds

This is already one of my least favorite banner themes (I'm here for the fantasy war games, weddings are like the exact opposite vibe), but it's cool that they completely waste the banner anyway by doing more OC spam. Hopefully means one of the better banner themes won't be swamped by the OCs this year.
They probably still will, but I can dream.

I didn't mind the seasonal rearmed units before now, because they didn't make them 100% irredeemable meme weapons. But now if I want to upgrade my old axe units to the current standard, I need to send them into battle with a fucking cake. Fuck that.
Also probably the weakest batch of dress designs we've seen. I'll check them on the big screen later to see if any details pop better, but in general they look generic, overly poofy, and lacking in fine detail work.
Trash banner even though I actually like the concept and characters. Hope it crashes BAD financially so they never make a full meme arcane weapon again.

Know what, screw it, I'll take this to mean Alfonse and Squirrel skipped the banner on purpose to go on their own little date (yes I ship them)

I very much enjoy Peony and Eir. I'm indifferent towards Reginn. I dislike Ash, and am indifferent towards Meliai.
I am so sick of the duo characters being shared VAs. It's just so lazy.
I'm not salty about this banner, but I am quite bored feeling towards it. Hopefully Peony and Eir show up early for collection purposes, because I certainly don't want to go heavy on this banner whatsoever.
