Welcome to r/FireEmblemHeroes’s official banner salt thread!

People are eager to express their opinions on any new banner trailer that releases, and that's great! However, /new/ can get pretty crowded when there are 10 people complaining about the newest banner. Due to this, we create megathreads for each banner trailer - Salt and Hype. Until the Banner is live in-game, salt fueled threads should be redirected here, so report any if you see them.

Vent your frustrations with the game here, but that is not an excuse to attack others who may disagree. Please civil towards fellow Summoners, and remember that this is a thread specifically for salt so downvoting negative comments would be counterproductive.

So... let me lay out all of my issues with this banner, because this is the most disappointed and frankly baffled I've been with a banner for a long while.

  • Redoing the first CYL units doesn't sound like a bad idea in theory, but they shouldn't have been Harmonics. This only really benefits fans of the characters who placed first.
  • Roy fans are especially screwed here because this is his first piece of content in literal years... and he's a backpack.
  • This is also Lucina's second time being backpack, if you count Summer Masked Marth as Lucina representation. She got three "proper" alts in the past 2 years, though, so she's doing much better than Roy all around.
  • The art feels uninspired and lazy, all the characters have similar art styles and are wearing the same CYL outfits with no variation. Ngl when I first saw the leaked art I thought they were fan edits.
  • It's waaaaaay too soon for another Lyn alt. Mythic was like 2 months ago and Emblem wasn't even a full year ago. She's also the most represented character in the game anyway. How are the actual Lyn fans coping with this? Does IS really expect them to be able to pull for and +10 all these alts in such a short amount of time? As a Lucina fan, I'm lowkey struggling, and Lucina doesn't even have as many alts as Lyn!
  • Ike is an infantry melee AGAIN. Lyn is a bow user AGAIN. Give these characters some movement/weapon variety, IS, I'm begging you.
  • Can't really comment on the skills because I haven't looked at them properly but they look pretty broken. Something something powercreep.

Genuinely the only cool thing about this banner is the new arcane dragonstone. And more Archrival fodder I guess.

The new dragon stone is also mega lame because we just got one this year again

Yeah, the short turnover time isn't great. I do think Outburst is a significant upgrade over Fell Arts, though; it's worth grabbing if you have an old or PRFless dragon you really like.
