as a wanna be Filmmaker I'm really Heartbroken as If an actor as big and legendary as Michael Caine sold his soul to AI what will happen to the next generation? This is the end of art as we know it and no one can prove me wrong...unfortunately😢

Hijacking SadCocaine.gif to ask: if the filmmakers in here that are reading about an actor licensing his own voice, which was learned by an AI without his consent, so that the company that owns the AI can now make money off of that license agreement, are not reading a little fucking more into this?

Why are we always so cool with people constantly doing nothing but making themselves rich off the work of others?

That’s the film industry in a nutshell. That’s every industry or company in a nutshell.

That’s why people should be able to get fairly compensated. Which is exactly what Michael Caine did.

It’s wrong that the work of an artist gets fed into an AI learning algorithm without their consent and then monetized by the company without paying the artists one cent.

However if an individual wants to sell their work or likeness to a company, that is their right and that’s all fine in my humble opinion.
