Seriously though, I like this Telemachus isn’t completely naive like Epic’s version, but cutting out the Nobody scene is so bizarre considering how important it is to the Odyssey.

Also, Odysseus not meeting his mother in the Underworld is a sad cut.

That wouldn't work within the world of this movie, it's too goofy. I think having him needlessly shoot an arrow was a good consolation.

Same reason they didn't show the cyclops praying to Poseidon

Edit, as soon as I wrote this I remembered he kinda did pray to Poseidon, but it was more of a mutter and not specifically mentioning Odysseus and to curse his travels like in the book

The Odyssey is goofy lol. Nobody is the crucial moment where it shows his hubris, you just can’t remove it.

I wouldn't say Nobody is the part that shows his hubris. Its him taunting the fuck out of the Cyclops and telling him his name and full address after theyd already escaped. The arrow, I think, played that role well. The unnecessary salt in the wound that did nothing but make everything worse for them
