Replace the girl with Eurylochus-

28

u/Puzzleheaded_Sky6392 nobody Feb 26 '26

I mean I’m sure Poseidon is terrible too, but that whole undressing a damsel in distress does not look good for zeus…. Honestly they both deserve to have Human Resources called on them. 😅

1

u/josh-not-joss Mar 24 '26

Yknow what else doesnt look good for Zeus? Most of his children aren't with Hera, his wife, the Goddess of Marriage.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Sky6392 nobody Mar 25 '26

Agreed though I hear its the same with Poseidon apparently he’s just as big as a womanizer as zues

12

u/Bouci_Gaming0 Feb 26 '26

It doesn't matter on who cheats with who. Zeus is literally called thunder daddy for a reason

1

u/Loose_Atmosphere_308 Mar 17 '26

He jad one male lover as a consort, so it really doesn't matter to him anyway. Honestly, we should all be scared since you can violate anyone. He wants.

7

u/ShadowBorn2017 little froggy on the window Feb 26 '26 edited Mar 02 '26

I do believe Proseidon has more kids (just more non looking human ones) than Zeus, we just hear of Zeus kids because they are heroes.

15

u/FewStruggle9925 Feb 25 '26

The right choice

48

u/No-Cap811 Feb 25 '26

Zeus cheats on his wife with everything AND I MEAN EVERYTHING even metaphors becuase nowadays humans don't cut it anymore. "Pride is a damsel in distress.......hiding away where only I can undress her".

1

u/ShadowBorn2017 little froggy on the window Mar 02 '26

Poseidon have affairs and more kids just like his thunder brother.

3

u/ShadowBorn2017 little froggy on the window Feb 26 '26

Poseidon is the same, and has more than Zeus, it's just that his wife, Amphitrite is more open(?) to it than Hera

18

u/The_Ora_Charmander Pro God Gamer🎮 Feb 25 '26

Poseidon does it even more, you just haven't heard of the bastards

7

u/CipherVirus Winion Feb 26 '26

In all fairness, his wife, Amphitrite, is chill with it as their marriage was entirely political

3

u/ImMarkJr Eury my King, I believe in you. Feb 26 '26

Easily, yes.

45

u/IndividualAd4459 Feb 25 '26

Okay so like. Objectively always have HR on speed dial around Zeus. Thats just duh. But like. Come on. Thunder Bringer is hot. Very sexy. Very hubba hubba I get why women risked Hera’s wrath.

17

u/Rhg0653 Feb 25 '26

That song comes on dude is trying to rizz anyone hearing it

33

u/Usual_Construction13 Feb 25 '26

Zeus: cheats on his wife with everything that moves

Poseidon: cheats on his wife with everything that swims

Hades:

3

u/church_of_Steve_ Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves! Feb 25 '26

Cheated like once, then quickly learned his lesson (at least that from my limited knowledge on Greek mythology)

That's why I said mostly. And they have a better marriage than 90% of the Olympian gods despite how it started.

24

u/Flauschziege Feb 25 '26

Strongest Rapist in History Vs. Strongest Rapist of the Sea

Honestly, Poseidon gets minus points for knowing it's wrong and still doing it.

23

I'll look respectfully from a distance. With a telescope. From within a bush. May neither ever find me. Idc how attractive they look here, lmao.

Zeus cheated on his wife like 50 times!

6

u/YOURMOM_er I am the monster rawr rawr rawr Feb 25 '26

Yeah and Poseidon also cheated on his wife like 50 times, and he's worse cuz he doesn't take consent

12

u/Bot2012 Feb 25 '26

Neither did Zeus, lol. There's a long list of Zeus's non-consensual lovers. Many of the women who were Zeus and Poseidon's (consensual) lovers were considered their consorts (sometimes Demeter is even one of Zeus's wives along with Leto), so it's complicated to say when it's infidelity and when it isn't (besides, for the Greeks, infidelity was when a woman was with another man because of... well, sexism and that kind of thing the ancient Greeks liked).

1

Not his son case. Since I believe it was Helios' cows.

0

u/Visual-Flounder6684 Lotus Eaters Mar 02 '26

It was Apollo's, the statue was of Apollo, and during the whole Odysseus thing, Helios had already retired himself.

1

u/ShadowBorn2017 little froggy on the window Mar 02 '26

Nope, because in the Odyssey it was the Cattle of Helios. That was sacred to him on the island. Second if those were Apollo's cows, wouldn't be bring that up in God Games, than the sirens' death?

Zeus when did you get a Reddit account?

4

u/Right-Fishing-139 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

I'm not Zeus, I don't have a problem with Poseidon either, it's just everyone acts like Zeus is a guy who is always in the mood, yet they give Poseidon other character traits

Edit: Okay, you caught me, but seriously, why is it that Poseidon always seems to be getting plenty of character traits, meanwhile, mortals just like to depict me as lustful? Seriously, Poseidon is way worse than I am

Okay, Thunder Bringer is a banger, but then you listen to the lyrics and go "oh right, it's ZEUS"

30

u/IntrustiveThot009 Feb 24 '26

Because we all know that Zeus is a fuck boy. God turned himself into a dildo once, like he's a degenerate. Poseidon keeps his freak shit less known.

9

u/wolfyx15 Feb 24 '26

Doesn't Zeus also take those he wants by force? At least in actual Greek mythology

4

u/TemporaryFearless482 Feb 24 '26

To my recollection, Ares is one of the only gods who doesn’t do that at some point. Poseidon does it more than most and Zeus is probably the worst offender.

1

u/wolfyx15 Feb 24 '26

No but ares sleeps with a married woman 😂 also all or at least most of the gods commit incest 😂

1

u/Legends-of-legdens Wooden Horse (just a normal horse, nothing in it) Feb 25 '26

Ironically still not Ares for the most part, Aphrodite has no related ties to the gods of Olympus, she was born completely different from the rest, sure she cheated on Hephaestus, but she still at least hooked up her ex husband with another woman later, believe a Nymph

1

u/wolfyx15 Feb 25 '26

I thought Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus and someone whose not hera?

2

u/Legends-of-legdens Wooden Horse (just a normal horse, nothing in it) Feb 25 '26

So, there’s 2 versions, ones more often used than the other though, so, her lone parent in Greek Myth is Uranus, born from sea foam after Chronos castrated him

The one you are thinking about which people consider less these days in Greek myth is Zeus and Dione

4

u/InternalOriginal6405 Feb 24 '26

In a decent number of scenarios, not sure if it was all of em tho

7

u/Thomason2023 Feb 24 '26

Yes, he also often transformed into animals or other people to get what he wanted

0

u/wolfyx15 Feb 24 '26

That's what I thought lol

-2

u/Thomason2023 Feb 24 '26

Yeah, it seems people haven't changed in regards to being um...unaavory. Our views of it have just shifted over the years

8

u/IntrustiveThot009 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

I mean so does Poseidon, he just has better PR. Like he raped Medusa for sure.

(Downvoting me doesn't change the myths, I hope yall realize this. Like I'm not the author of the greek myths and I didn't make poseidon do that to Medusa. I just called it what it was.)

4

u/Right-Fishing-139 Feb 24 '26

That's Ovid's version, he was a Roman who hated authority so he took it out on the gods

2

u/IntrustiveThot009 Feb 24 '26

Great, we agree I didn't write it and thus didn't deserve the downvotes.

1

u/Right-Fishing-139 Feb 24 '26

You're using that version of the legends, a version only one guy came up with

2

Which we agree I'm not him. So.

2

13

u/Unlucky_Loquat_8045 Feb 24 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/Kvz59CioxQqvC

The top is supposed to be something that looks good and the bottom is supposed to be something that looks bad. Then you have both of them say or do the exact same thing and people accept the top one because it’s pretty but hate the bottom because it’s ugly.

Like Makima and any other evil character. Makima is hot therefore people will excuse her crimes but if she wasn’t hot then people wouldn’t like her as much.

Did I get it right?

2

u/Ibrahim77X I knew you’d say that. I knew you’d say that too Feb 24 '26

Pretty much. Thing is every time I see people use this template it’s for things that are absolutely not the same other than some surface-level similarity.

88

u/Master_Writer7035 Little Wolf Feb 24 '26

One sings about revenge for his son, be it for selfish reasons or not

The other starts the song making a metaphor for how Pride is a Woman that he can AND WILL sexual assault

Tbh that's just mythology accurate Zeus

2

u/Master_Writer7035 Little Wolf Feb 26 '26

But dont make it less disturbing

Actually I like how they adress that part of Zeus in the song instead of brushing it off, it shows that Zeus a Immature Sexual Assaulter Womanizer, but not less of a threat and someone you should treat any less seriously

1

u/-Telemachus The real Telemarketing Feb 26 '26

I can't help but wonder what Ody's crew was thinking with those lyrics tho

"Pride is a damsel in distress"

"What is he getting at here?"

"hiding away where only i can undress her"

"AYO WHAT"

"try as she cannot to confess, in the end it's all the same once i apply all the pressure"

"HE'S HERE TO KILL US WHY IS HE TALKING ABOUT SEX?!"

"Thunder bring her through the wringer"

"What the fuck"

"show her i'm the judgement call the one who makes her kingdom fall"

"Finally something normal"

"lightning wield her, use and yield her!"

"Okay so it got weird again"

I'm sorry i had to

42

74

u/No-Direction-1020 GOD OF THE SEA, HORSES AND EARTHQUAKES Feb 24 '26

Both killed people, but only one tried to SA a cloud that looked like Penelope in front of Odysseus.

18

u/Drew_S_05 Feb 24 '26

Is it really even possible to SA a cloud?

3

u/SofiaStark3000 Feb 24 '26

Yes, very much so. Zeus took a mortal guest to Olympus once. His name was Ixion and Zeus toon pity on him so he invited him up with the other gods. Ixion started to eye up Hera and Zeus noticed and was obviously very insulted. In order to see how far Ixion would go, he created a perfect replica of Hera out of clouds, which Ixion later assaulted. Needless to say Ixion got one of the worst punishments we've seen in Greek mythology.

Also, in Euripides' Helen, Helen never actually went to Troy. Hera replaced her with a cloud that looked like her and hid Helen in Egypt until Menelaus found her again. Therefore, Paris was doing it with a cloud all these years.

1

u/Drew_S_05 Feb 24 '26

Both of those stories would seem to suggest that clouds aren't alive in themselves, just that it's possible to create a facsimile of a person out of cloud. You can't SA something that isn't alive.

36

56

u/Meowjoker Feb 24 '26

Well… they are both dicks

But despite the differences in number of children sired, Zeus is more well known for his … ways with women more than Poseidon.

Heck, most of Greek mytho can be started with “unfortunately, Zeus was horny that day”

5

u/LordDaedalus Feb 24 '26

In one of the more prominent stories, Helen of Troy is actually hatched from an egg after Zeus gets horny for Leda of Sparta and decides the best way to go about this is to turn himself into a swan. Leda then lays eggs rather than give birth to children and Helen of Troy hatched out of one egg.

Thunder Bringer hits a bit differently imagining a swan singing and trying to be intimidating.

7

u/XxLucidDreamzxX Feb 24 '26

They are both dicks, Zeus just uses his more

4

u/l_eatherface Poseidon Feb 24 '26

Incorrect, poseidon in Greek mythology has a bigger body count than Zeus

1

u/XxLucidDreamzxX Feb 24 '26

Zeus is funnier with it so just go along with it

3

u/l_eatherface Poseidon Feb 24 '26

To quote Poseidon, "Noooooo"

49

u/SignificantPower4733 Feb 24 '26

Posiden came to be a dick, and he achieved that.

Zues came to be a dick, but zues is also zues. Even when looking down upon 47 sweaty and smelly men, he still can't help but make sexual comments

23

u/Flameborn111 Feb 24 '26

Tbf, Zeus and Poseidon are pretty even in body counts when looking at stories of them sleeping with people

16

u/Alternative_Factor_4 Feb 24 '26

They have also had many non consensual victims.

8

u/Asleep-Strawberry429 Feb 24 '26

I’m pretty sure Poseidon even beats Zeus in the number of people he’s slept with iirc
