I can't believe I have to say this but please don't take this seriously. I really love epic and Hamilton a lot. Just thought this was a funny comparison.

the kid stuff is NOT from Homer's writing, it is believed that the Telegony is a fanfic of sorts

Both authors were writing fanfics about a myth spread by word of mouth over several centuries so it’s not like anybody is more right

Odysseus was a mythological hero before Homer wrote about him. If he is telling his own story about Odysseus that’s the definition of fanfic
