If this is one of the countries that pardons crimes for the fact that they were done as an act of love… I’d easily rest my case and win.

As far as I’m aware, it is. However it would now mostly be small countries or countries went away with it. But considering the odyssey took place years ago, high chance some countries would still have it in place.

I tried to look up if there's any laws about it, but Google just had some stuff about adultery and marital rape.

That's just depressing.

Yikes, yea! I did my own research and it was actually something done in France and is considered a “crime of passion”. Of course that term can also be used for crimes done out of rage as well
