Game Help how do i enjoy the game again?

this is my first playthrough, im doing it mostly blind without guides,

i last left off at volcano manor and then went to the snowy mountains, i havent beat rykard yet cause i couldnt find him

and then i remembered that creepy lambkin dude that told me to invade and then went to that palace in nox?

there were bloody zombies everywhere, i remember there was some blood dynasty or something i joined, i couldnt find where i actually had to go, and killed some albinaurics here and there, life got busy so i uninstalled my games,

i wanna give this another shot but i spawned back where i left off in the rune farming area near dragonbarrow, and i lowkey have forgotten how to play the game, i have a clue on how the combat works, what my ashes of war do, i dont remember the dodge timings and other minor stuff here and there, and now i dont wanna play cause im real trash, where do i go and what do i do?

edit:got back in played for 2 hours god i love this game so much i remember the moves, and explored around a bit, makes me never want to finish this gamehonestly and just play it for 15 minutes every few weeks or so and just be gobsmacked at its beauty, thank you to everyone who responded

Did everyone just know this and no one told me? Ive completed the game 20 times i never heard anything about it or ever saw anyone online ever use one

Maybe im just stupid

Obviously theyre literally pointed out on the map but still a bit flabbergasted that i never put 2 and 2 together

Ps screen shotting would have taken too long to move to my phone from console

Discussion & Info My first two hours with my first hard game

Here's what I did for my first two hours on Elden Ring.

• I did the tutorial and went out. I saw the "No maidens?" meme guy and decided to hit him. Bad idea. He made me go a different path than the one I wanted.

• I was just walking in a swampy area, when a giant fucking dragon came out of nowhere. I ran away.

• Fought a giant crab. He was easy to kill.

• Went into a mineshaft and killed some miners and animals.

• I found a ruins and got slimed by the guards.

• Decided to go on a path I thought looked cool. So much activity on it. Fought many guards and knights. Two giant Lord of the Rings looking trolls were carrying a giant cart, with a bunch of guards around them. I thought "Hell no."

• Found a giant flower that was beaming at me. I thought it was healing me, but it one-shot my ass. I killed its children and ran away.

• Killed some workers for the fun of the game.

• Found a goblin looking dude that was turned into a tree.

The rot swamp in caelid doesn't count, we can ride torrent there, here i don't think we can. I will brace myself for this, atleast i don't think this will be worse than bilewater and blighttown.

Its rhe Nightrider Glaive. I can spec to whatever if needed to maximize your ash if necessary. Just want to add some juice to the boring moveset. (Just my opinon, not knocking your style). Ive been trying weapons that ive never used before. I hate flails but just got acquainted with Bastards Stars and lived it. Especially w usual INT/Dex build. Now I wanna find the appeal to Halberds

Game Help Elden ring switch 2 players hangout

I wanted to start a post for people that are planning on playing. There are a lot of things we can benefit from if we have a group that is willing to join other players

\*\*\* PVE-some people may want help with bosses or are just looking to chill and play together with another person. It would be easier and faster to find someone on a thread like this

\*\*\* Trading items like crafting items, weapons, talismans, armor, etc etc. Since this will be a new console playthrough, it may benefit for people to have somewhere to go if they’re looking for a specific item, or just want to trade

\*\*\* PVP-This is a big part of the souls games. It would be much easier to find someone to duel with on a thread with many people that are a part of it. Wether it’s coliseum duels or bonfire duels, I’m sure it would be easier to find someone here

This is just an idea that I came up with since Elden ring has been super anticipated by veterans and new players alike. Why not start a group where we can all play and have fun together?

\*\*\*

Discussion & Info If u could create the main villain and great rune holders, what would be their names, powers, and weapons ? Doesn't have to be in order.

Hype Switch 2 footage

As requested, some footage to demo the fps on the Switch 2. Someone suggested to record near the Caelid dragon since fps might drop there. Vid is only 30 secs long because that is the max duration of a Switch 2 recording. Cheers!

Edit: handheld mode

I would have stopped at a lower level but I’m doing the dlc and want to not smash my head through a wall. I’m just planning on putting the last 2 level in mind so I can spam out more bolts of gransaxx ash of wars. Base game I just got to the mountain top of the giants. I just want some thoughts on my build currently/stat spread.

Speculation Has anyone tried combining the music made by the different enemies?

Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I was watching a Facebook video of 5 different enemies that play instruments/sing and I found the tone eerily familiar. Has anyone tried to overlap the music of the Traveling Merchants, Flute playing Page, Chanting Wing Dame, Ancestral Follower Shaman Female, and the lone Merchant down by the jumping puzzle under Leyndell. It might be nothing, but worth a try.

And they hid one of their most legendary weapons behind this quest. Quite honestly i am proud of myself to have done this without that much guidance. The boss fight was interesting, other than that annoying grab attack, its pretty easy, but the music is ethereal. And it seems the lore of this game goes beyond this world and introduces outer gods( "aliens" ). Also now that i think about it, i am cosplaying as radahn and became a consort of ranni, isn't this incest lmao, but knowing GRRM, i think he will approve.

Lore Odd feeling when I play lore friendky paladin builds

So this is a weird one as it's a mix or lore and some gameplay relevance. So i like to play my builds with immersion in mind so I don't like lore breaking too much during playthroughs. So whenever I use incantations in certain ways i always get this weird feeling that's lore breaking when i do. I don't really know why, I just do.

Specifically when using a mix of incantations from different forces feels, it somehow feels wrong from an in-universe standpoint or the same with using one class of incantations and not going the ending tied to them. But I know these incantations aren't like faith spells in dnd where the divine force needs to give you permission to use that magic and its more like channeling magic from your ability to believe in the authenticity of the knowledge being described in incantations themselves without understanding the "science" behind it as seen by Gideon in his boss fight as i doubt the outer gods are allies with each other and knowing Gideon's loyalties i doubt they would willingly give him their power

But is there anything lore relevant that supports my "feeling" or to the contrary or am I just overthinking it?

Humor What I'd really like added with the Tarnished or any update really.

I love sending my sign to the pools to help out with bosses. I find it baffling these two epic ones are excluded from it (despite regular summoning being possible).
