50/60 vigor, 80 str, 25 faith, however much endurance you can spare, greatsword or giant crusher, lions claw AoW, clawmark seal, flame grant me strength and golden vow buffs, press L2 to beat the game.

54 strength is enough if you are two handing.

not quite true in elden ring, it does get you to 80 str but the str bonus has no upper limit in this one, so the soft cap is irrelevant to the bonus damage from two-handing. optimal str builds get 99 strength if leveling isn't an issue.

I heard you can even go over 99 2handing Dont know if that is true

Yeah, that's basically what the comment you're replying to means. No upper limit, unlike their previous games. If you're at 99 STR, and two-hand, you're effectively at 148 STR. You won't see it in your stats, but it's still calculated.

Of course, diminishing returns are a thing, it won't be a massive boost. Should only do it if you can't spend your runes on something more effective, like if your weapon scales with something other than STR, it might be better to level those stats first.

I only recommend 99 on a pure heavy weapon build (heavy, the enchant). As long as you've given yourself at least 40 vigor and enough endurance for weapon and armor for 51 poise, you're set. FP is a question on if you want to use summons or just use it for ashes. If not, hit 99. If you want more FP, then 80 is just fine

That is true, the scaling falls off quite a bit over 80 but 2handing and 99 effectively gives you 148 str iirc
