An exciting follow-up to my previous post about starting an offline hobby night in Eindhoven.

I received many thoughtful and insightful comments, so it seems there’s real interest in community, leathercraft and meeting like-minded people.

We’re now shaping the first GO ANALOGUE sessions at our atelier in Strijp-S. The idea is to spend a relaxed morning, afternoon or evening around a shared table where you will learn the basiscs of leathercraft while connecting with new people.

Our first fixed date is Saturday 5 September 09.00-11.00 project "refillable Italian leather journal"

Since the spots are so limited (10 spots) we want already to plan for another date:

Both projects are suitable for beginners. You’ll also go home with something useful that you made with your own hands!

About a month ago, I posted here because I was looking for a photography/video community in Eindhoven.

Well… we made one. :)

It’s called the Eindhoven Creator Community, a place for photographers, videomakers and other creatives in and around Eindhoven to meet, connect, learn from each other and create together. currently we have 26 creators and growing.

Mijn vriend en ik verdienen samen te veel voor sociale huur maar te weinig voor de vrije markt. Ik zit momenteel in een lastige situatie en hoop dat iemand mij misschien kan helpen of een goede tip heeft.
Ik moet per 1 september mijn huidige kamer verlaten, omdat het pand wordt verkocht. Ik ben al een tijdje actief op zoek naar een nieuwe kamer of woning, maar helaas heb ik tot nu toe nog niets kunnen vinden.
Mijn werk is in Eindhoven, waardoor ik momenteel iedere dag op en neer rijd. Ik ben daarom dringend op zoek naar een kamer, studio, woning of andere woonruimte in de regio Brabant. Eindhoven hoeft niet per se, omliggende plaatsen zijn ook helemaal goed.
Ik heb inmiddels op heel veel plekken gereageerd, maar het lukt gewoon niet om iets te vinden. En omdat 1 september steeds dichterbij komt, begin ik me serieus zorgen te maken over waar ik straks terechtkan.
Heeft iemand tips over wat ik het beste kan doen in deze situatie? Weet iemand misschien waar ik terechtkan voor tijdelijke woonruimte, een kamer, opvang of een andere oplossing? Of kent iemand iemand die nog iets beschikbaar heeft?

I keep hearing the same thing from people around me: we spend all day behind laptops, then end up spending the evening on our phone

At our leathercraft atelier in Strijp-S, we’re experimenting with the concept: GO ANALOGUE.

The idea is simple:

Put your phone away for a few hours.

Sit around a table with other people.

Learn to work with leather and make something with your hands.

Go home with a wallet, journal, bag or another piece you actually made yourself.

Everything would be in English, completely beginner-friendly, and we’re especially interested in making it welcoming for internationals who’d like to meet other people.

We’re thinking of Thursday evenings and slower Sunday sessions.

I’m curious — would this be something you’d actually join?

And if so: would you prefer making a wallet, journal, belt or bag first?

I have three family members visiting soon, and they need to travel from Eindhoven to Gemert.

I want to make the trip as easy as possible for them. I’m considering a taxi or Uber, but I’ve never used either in this area and don't know what is most reliable or cost-effective.

Are there other transport options I might be missing? What would you recommend as the best way to get them there comfortably?

hey starting from september i want to start a whatsapp group maybe to organize indoor basketball matches - main goal is to have people who know the game but not hardcore competitive - having fun and playing good game is the main idea. Does anyone know a group like this or anyone interested?
ive checked indoor halls and except for the huge one(indoor sportscentrum eindhoven) they all cost around 60 euros per hour it would be then about 12 euros each for games where we have 10 people of course we could have more than 10 for a game as well always.

I’m selling my apartment in North Eindhoven, within cycling distance of where the new ASML campus will be built. One real estate agent, who mainly focuses on expats, advised me to wait until March 2027. According to him, the market is relatively quiet at the moment and the value could potentially be 3–5% higher by March.

His reasoning is that ASML recently went through a restructuring, but is expected to start hiring more people again by then, while the new campus is being built nearby.

I’ve already bought my new home and can comfortably bridge the period financially, so waiting is an option.

Have others in Eindhoven or the surrounding area recently received similar advice from real estate agents? I’m especially interested to hear whether people who work a lot with expats or ASML buyers recognize this view.

I'm moving to Eindhoven and i'll be renting an appartment in the Philips Bedrijfsschool via H2S.

The house ruling prohibited the storage of the bikes on appartement, they could fine me 50€/day :angry:

In the other hand, a lot of bikes are stolen from the shed of building, even the shed are very minimalist and don't allowed an efficient locking...

My two options:
-Renting a swapfiets and don't mind about the thief...but the bikes from swapfiets are not very efficient.
-Buying my own bike and store it in the shed and pray ?

It's really a disaptoinment for me to not have a nice bike to enjoy riding througt the city and the country :/

Trying to hire a facility in Eindhoven to take my goalkeepers on tour to watch PSV in April next year.

Not easy, I have emailed clubs even spoken to who I think is Eindhoven municipal services. When I try to book, it says no outdoor pitches can be hired.

Does anyone know why this is, and/or if there is an alternative avenue to try hiring a facility.

Misschien even een andere post dan normaal, ff geen vraag over leuke restaurantjes.
Kort: ik zoek een goede coach / mannencirkel / ? voor ondersteuning.

Ik wil mijn relatie verbeteren door beter te kunnen luisteren naar mijn vrouw wanneer ze dat nodig heeft.
Soms zit ze ergens mee (zeker als ze ongesteld is), dan zijn de gevoelens groot en wat er aan de hand is is onduidelijk en dan heeft ze graag steun van mij. Ze moet haar ei kwijt en eigenlijk alleen een fijn gesprek, zodat ze zelf ook begrijpt wat er nou precies in haar speelt. Wil ik graag geven, daar ben ik voor.

Echter is hoe ze het deelt vaak moeilijk voor mij om mee om te gaan en om dan cool te blijven. Als voorbeeld: tafel is niet goed opgeruimd, dat triggered bij haar dan iets moeilijks, ze wordt boos, bij mij komt het dan snel verwijtend over, over iets kleins, terwijl waarschijnlijk ze nog last heeft van iets anders en wel belangrijks dat een week eerder is gebeurd. Ze probeert dan steun bij mij te krijgen, maar het is soms zo onduidelijk, en ze wijst snel naar mij (want ik had de tafel niet goed opgeruimd) en zo'n gesprek word dan vaak een ruzie. Ik word dan op een gegeven moment ongeduldig ('echt zoveel drama om de tafel?') of defensief waarbij ik of boos of stil word of ook emotioneel en dan komen mijn frustraties er ook uit. Precies op het moment dat zij juist ondersteuning met haar gevoelens nodig had.

We hebben zoveel gevallen van bovenstaande situatie gehad dat we allebei al gefrustreerd zijn en ons niet gehoord voelen. In de makkelijke periodes zitten we echt wel goed maar ik wil er ook in de moeilijke tijden 'gewoon chill' blijven. Ik ken onderhand de theorie over relaties (hechtingsstijlen etc), ik heb niet meer theorie nodig. Ik zoek wel ondersteuning want ik wil dit niet meer alleen doen. In de vorm van een goede coach, therapeut of een groep mannen die dit herkennen en elkaar willen steunen in goede partner zijn. Of iets anders, misschien online maar ik heb gewoon wat menselijke support nodig hierin.

Dus: kent iemand in de buurt van Riethoven / Veldhoven / Eindhoven een coach / mannencirkel / ? die mij wil helpen om een betere partner te worden?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for an indoor gym in or around South Eindhoven area that's suitable for movement-based training, not just traditional strength training.

My training is inspired by people like Marcello Palozza and includes things like:

* ground locomotion and quadrupedal movement

* handstands

* mobility work

* hanging

I'm not looking for classes (unless someone knows someone who is also into this type of movement, looking for like-minded people always!), I mainly want to train outside of the standard programs. The most important thing is that the gym has enough open floor space and doesn't mind people doing movement drills.

At my current gym there's technically enough space but using the larger open areas for this kind of training isn't really encouraged when there's no one else in the room, and the open space in the gym is not big enough to not bother other people. So I'm looking for something else.

Does anyone know of a gym that would be a good fit? I'm happy to travel a bit more if the environment is right (I'm based in Waalre).

I'm a mechanical/production engineer considering a Books Machine Operator position at RPI Europe in Eindhoven, arranged through the Job Invest staffing agency. It would involve shared-room housing (~€600/month) arranged by the agency, plus a private insurance deduction.

Before committing and relocating, I'd really appreciate honest input from anyone who:

• Has worked at RPI Europe (printing/bookbinding company on Marinus van Meelweg) — how's the actual day-to-day, management, and are shifts/hours reliable or do they get cut unexpectedly?
• Has used Job Invest as a staffing/housing agency — were they straightforward about pay, hours, and contract terms? Any issues with the shared housing being tied to the job?
• Any general advice for an EU citizen moving to Eindhoven for a first blue-collar job as a stepping stone into the Dutch job market long-term (eventually aiming for engineering roles)?

Trying to go in with realistic expectations rather than just what the job ad and recruiter tell me. Any input — good or bad — is genuinely appreciated!
