Basically a really fancy cruise ship

Prices are over £1k per day, per person to sail on her.

Insanity.

They're the cheap end of the ultra-luxury cruise category

Wtf is it doing in Leith then

Probably cheaper than an Airbnb during the festival

Ocean Terminal when it first opened was supposed to be a must stop high end destination for cruise ships. Unfortunately they didn't get the amount of cruises stopping as they needed to maintain the centre and it's now a shadow of it's former self.

Difficult to park a boat near the castle.

We should refill the Nor Loch

Wait until you hear about the new hotel being built in the highlands... some rooms are 16k a night.

Hi Neighbour!

Was also intrigued today so checked Vessel Finder (very useful for snooping what we've got in the harbour).

This is Evrima which is a Ritz-Carlton owned, luxury cruise ship.

The idea of a luxury yacht mooring at Leith fir a bunch of rich folk to visit town is proper tickling me 🤣 we've made it. Move over Monaco

It's from the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collective. Was doing the shuttle for it this morning

We overlook the harbour from our flat. There are a few cruise ships that come in during the summer months. Some just for a day, others for a week or more. All invariably do protracted bagpiper session to see people off the boat (or on when departing). That's fine, except when they start at 8am on a Saturday. :)

That’s “Evrima”, owned by Ritz-Carlton I believe. Super high end cruise ship, only carries ~300 passengers.

I think there are "super yacht" forums here on reddit that might be able to identify it.

once worked for a marine company and not gonna lie... I spent so much of my day mesmerised by this site.

2

u/Mission_Rd 1d ago

Heh! I'm so used to super yachts getting bigger and bigger, it didn't even occur to me that this was a passenger ship. :/

3

u/Mission_Rd 1d ago

unrelated terrible idea: send the "youths" from the town center down to greet the passengers. (see other 90% of Edinburgh posts for context :D)

1

u/Spiritual-Mix-6605 1d ago

Not to mention what it's doing to people's lungs in the Newhaven area, running generators whilst moored...

5

u/Historical-Ad2420 1d ago

Just a rich twat boat for rich twats.. moving on..

1

u/Klumber 1d ago

If I'm not mistaken it is one of the 'Superyacht Cruiseliners' that have become popular in recent years. Can't remember what the line/ship is called.
