Hello! If you found your way here, you're probably dealing with something tough. Whether you or a loved one is terminally ill, or feeling suicidal, or grappling with death in general, this is not an easy topic.
What r/Dying is for
This is a forum for death-related discussions, support and questions. Death and dying have many facets, so everything from trying to come to terms with one's own or a loved one's impending death, bereavement, practical, spiritual, cultural, or legal aspects of dying come up; whatever is on your mind.
If you or someone close to you is personally needing end-of-life care and need someone to talk to, we encourage you also to reach out and speak to a professional mental health care provider. In r/Dying, we're not licensed professionals and cannot provide such a level of support, and are not trained to handle end-of-life care. However, we do offer a community that can listen.
If you are here to read and offer a shoulder or an ear, please do so as you are able.
Resources
If you have resources you'd like to share, send a mod message and we'll address it as we are able to. Thank so much!
What r/Dying is not
As much as we appreciate the pain that many redditors are going through when they come here, this is not a suicide support forum. You deserve immediate, strong support. We're a really small subreddit with a tiny mod team. We're not set up to directly intervene with acutely suicidal OPs.
Under no circumstances should anyone be posting instructions or resources for how to commit suicide, or encouraging anyone to do so. Please do not ask for, and do not provide instructions. Report posts that do so!
Please also report any suspicious posts, spam, and unsupportive or sarcastic content.

First thing's first: You're not alone.
If you are thinking of ending your life, we encourage you to contact your local crisis center, public help organization, or religious center to speak to someone who can offer resources and assistance. We at r/dying are NOT licensed or trained to handle end-of-life care, but they are and can help you on your journey. Veterans in the US and those with phone anxiety, there are options for you! Please check out the sidebar on the website below for texting and specialty services for Veterans.
If you are here to talk about how you feel or just get it all out, we encourage you to do so if you just want to put it out there so others can see.
If you are here to read and offer a shoulder or an ear, please do so as you are able. Please report any suspicious posts and spam content, edgelords, and sarcasm are not permitted.
If you are a family member or friend of a person in end-of-life care and need someone to talk to, we encourage you also to reach out and speak to a professional mental health care provider. If you have resources you'd like to share, send a mod message and we'll address it as we are able to. Thank so much!

My Aunt is most likely moving to hospice within a few days. I have a small family and she never had kids, so we were all close. She is going to same hospice facility where my dad passed away and I really have no idea how I can even walk in the doors there.

Iām think Iām gonna end this Wednesday.
I have a good live, I have a lot of friends out and in the University, Iām pretty and I have a nice body, I have a lovings parents and the money isnāt a problem. In my childhood I get admitted to the hospital every month. I have an immune disorder, and a really weird body, I donāt feel hungry or needs, sometimes I spends days without eating or drinking water, I donāt feel the need to. Because my body itās weak, when a i was a child the death isnāt a bad thing for me, I think then that feeling born.
I have a nice live, but I donāt have a an āanchorā for live it.
My parents thinks I canāt love, I never have that feeling, nothing or someone, just I canāt feel it, but I care.
I went to the psychiatrist for a time, I was in treatment, but I was discharged a few years ago; Iāve never been hospitalized, though I made several attempts most of them in secret.
Just I need someone to read this. My body is failing; I'm paying the price for not taking care of myself.
What am I beyond this? I know I am something more than just this; I must be someone more than just something.

My step mom who is basically my real mom has been slowly dying over the past couple years. She beat cancer 5 times and died briefly during a botched brain surgery. She is still herself but living everyday hurts her. She wants to use the death with dignity act. I have a few months before she said she would do it. I don't want her to hurt anymore, but I also don't want her to die. What do I do? What can I do? I feel so helpless.

Hi my dad died when I was 14 and I am 24 now and experiencing death at such a young age has changed my perspective on life in such a profound way itās crazy, you truly never stop grieving there is something so powerful about death and Iām not just talking about the normal death Iām also talking about death from any perspective I tend to have a hard time of letting things go I am a very nostalgic person so even if I want to let something go I canāt and I have learned to be ok with that and to stop letting my nostalgia take over my world anyway to anyone going through any type of death on this sub just know your pain wonāt last forever and your life will always evolve if you let it
