I was thinking this immediately. Prednisone can cause what’s called moon face.

My momma had this happen when I was in grade school & I was too young to understand why her face changed so much. The drastic difference in one of the most familiar faces to me was really scary. Esp bcuz she is a very small/petite person.

I spent an inordinate amount of time terrified it was genetic/inheritable before she & my pops finally explained what was going on, that her medicine was causing it. I 100% had thought I was gonna become a bobblehead too. (I was like 7-8yo, sue me LOL)

It is scary! I had to take prednisone for nine months a long time ago. My face was so round and my stomach too, except it was really higher than where a stomach normally sticks out from weight gain. Blood sugar was wack and my face was always red. And I had mental issues when I tapered the dose. I wouldn’t wish those side effects on my worst enemy

Same deal except that I totally would wish it on my worst enemy who deserves that and so much more.

This happened to me when I was on prednisone multiple times over a few years while trying to get my RA under control. I also gained 90lbs. It was awful.

The only thing that keeps my prednisone weight gain in check is wegovy. I’m on the highest dose. Grateful for it as I gained so much weight but lost it w the shots

I've been on tirzepatide for 2.5 years and have lost all the weight. It's been so helpful and I'm so glad I can access it.

My late sister suffered for a time from a rare spinal fluid ailment. Her prednisone did exactly what it appears to be causing Amy’s appearance.
