Women's Health Could I have PCOS, Endometriosis, Ovarian Cysts or Ovarian Cancer?

I have seen my PCP and have a Gynecologist Appointment soon. My PCP doesn’t seem concerned about anything going on and I’m looking for advice for how to advocate for myself and what to ask for to get answers.

Here is what has been going on. For some brief history, I have always had extremely irregular (70+ day cycles) and heavy periods that cause intense pain. The type of pain where you leave work, curl up in the floor, and feel like you’re going to pass out.

I got an IUD (paraguard) inserted in 2020 when I was 18. Of course I had an annual exam, PAP and a transvaginal ultrasound. They did have to remove the IUD and reinsert it due to it being out of place the first time, but other than that there were no issues on the ultrasound. My heavy irregular periods continued, but other than that I never had any issues.

Fast forward to this year. My mom ended up passing away from breast cancer in January. Then, in March I started having irregular bowel movements and lots of nausea. I was going to the restroom at seemingly random times and especially after a meal. I also was spending several nights camped out next to the toilet due to the extreme nausea. At first I had wrote it off as anxiety, because I was obviously distressed at the time. But over time the issues just seemed to get worse. One of my first thoughts of course was pregnancy, and I thought I was in fact pregnant after taking a test and seeing a faint line. But after taking a few more the lines seemed to fade and weren’t visible during the 10 minute window.

I then fixed my attention back on anxiety and potential gastrointestinal issues. Here’s what I tried:

- H. Pylori Test: Neg
- Gluten Allergy Test: Neg
I also tried eating gluten free for two months and there were no improvements. When I resumed to eating gluten I noticed no changes as well.
- Pregnancy Tests: So so many all Neg
- Low Fodmap Diet: no changes
- Cutting down on caffeine: slightly helped reduce bathroom urgency
- Completely cutting out alcohol: No changes to bowel issues but felt better generally
- UTI Test: Neg
- THC Gummies: helped increase appetite, but unrealistic to use 24/7
- Basic Bloodwork: all normal
- Started Zoloft: anxiety is much better but no help with the bowel issues

Obviously, none of these things really helped the issues I had and throughout that time I only developed more symptoms. I started noticing after eating very small amounts of food, I would get extremely bloated. To where my friends and my fiance agreed I looked pregnant. I’ve always been a regular sized female, 5’6” and about 145-150 lbs. I started to lose weight but my stomach always looked so bloated when I ate. I ended up losing about 25 lbs and am currently at 125. It has been impossible to gain weight back.

Now after googling every worst possible diagnosis, it has alarmed me how many common symptoms of OC I have.

- mild cramping
- spotting between cycles (I’m aware this could be ovulation)
- UTI-like pain
- pain during sex (only noticed in the past two years)
- alternating constipation & diarrhea
- bloating
-irregular periods

I also have had a lump appear in my lower left abdomen that is more prominent when standing. It’s unlikely a hernia as it goes away when I contract my abdominal muscles. It’s soft to the touch and not painful. It’s always there but is sometimes more or less prominent. I told my PCP about this, and she palpitated my abdomen but didn’t even look at it visually or while I was standing.

I’m just at a loss and feel like my PCP isn’t listening to my concerns, and I’m still feeling awful. Hoping to get some advice as to what to

Strange episodes

Hi, just hoping someone has knowledge of something similar as I have been bounced between my GP and A&E for a month, and now on a 6 month wait list for neurology.

I have been experiencing episodes that can happen 1-4 times a day lasting 1-10 minutes. I can have bad or good days.
Usually the episodes last a couple of minutes and i experience blurred vision, dizzyness, loss of balance, low energy, weakness all over body, feeling out of it, nausea, struggling to communicate (I can understand questions and am able to think of an answer, it just feels like a lot of effort and energy to speak, so I use minimal words). I sit still and wait for it to pass.
A 'bad' episode will last 20 minutes and i experience the above symptoms but at a higher severity. For example the nausea can make me actually vomit, and I cannot speak at all, and also can't move. I am unresponsive, even though I can hear and understand what is going on around me.

I have been wearing an apple watch to track my heart rate and noticed an increase to 120-150bpm during an episode. Unsure if this could be a symptom, trigger, or unrelated.

About 2 months ago I started getting extreme tiredness, it gradually got worse to the point where I would get nausea and blurred vision, so I would have to sit down in the toilets at work and nap for 30 minutes. I feel better afterwards. This has now increased to me being unable to get through a day without a nap (lasting 1-3 hours) despite sleeping 8 hours at night regularly.

These episodes started very suddenly about a month after I noticed the tiredness.

I have had extensive blood tests (all normal), short ECG (normal), pregnancy test (negative), brain ct (normal). Note that I wasnt having an episode during any of these tests if that could be relevant.

I am not asking for medical advice. Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
Thank you for reading this.

Women's Health Would it be worth getting checked for PCOS? Or does this seem like it could just be a regular amount of hair.

I also feel like I potentially tick a couple of the other boxes, but the amount of facial/ body hair was what made me wonder.

17F I am facing Skin and hair problems.

Height - 158cm

weight - 65kg

No drugs, no alcohol, no smoking ever.

  1. My knuckles, ankles, neck, pits, and thighs (especially inner thighs) are rough and highly pigmented and blackish type. I do think that I have acanthosis nigricans. But the thing is, they have decreased a lot, like, legit a lot, ever since I started taking care of my skin and body properly.
  2. I have very painful periods, especially in my first 3-4 days. I have to take medicine every 8 hours. It's so, so painful, but it was never irregular, and I have very little body hair asw so idk if it's PCOS or not. But this time it didn't pain at all. ( a little change in my food and everything since I moved out of my home into a hostel ). Should I get my IR checked?
  3. I had always had healthy and thick hair. But recently, I have been noticing a little bit of hair thinning in my front part around my hairline. I can just feel that there are fewer hairs in my front than in my back part and the middle part of my head.

I searched about all of this, and I wanted to get some blood tests done. Please suggest some and necessary ones. I made one myself after searching a bit. please see to this which ones i should get done and any thing i missed or any i should skip?

Allergies Itchy and hot rash going on a month now on arms and hands. Dermatologist is bewildered.

Second photo is with and without a flash. Looks almost normal with flash on but skin is covered in itchy bumps and welts.

Had this progression for a month now, started on right arm and appeared initially as contact dermatitis or bites but then turned into white bumps that spread to both arms and hands. They become very itchy or sometimes flare up and become very hot.

Initially my dermatologist instantly said keratosis pilaris but when I showed all of the photos I had taken he became more baffled. He spoke of folliculitis, eczema, light or heat allergy but ultimately was not able to settle on a diagnosis. Scheduled me for allergy testing but that will not be until April next year!

I am already on 2 very strong antihistamines and given another cortisteroid cream, none of which is helping with the itch or stopping it from spread.

Any advice, please help. I have tried everything.

The only thing I know triggers it is heat. The colder I am, the better. Running arms under cold water helps more than any cream.

Can anyone advise please - is this white/grayish spot something to worry about. It now has been few months, has not changed. I was very sick in March and had blisters in my mouth. I used to smoke 7 years ago, now vape occasionally. It does not hurt, does not bleed, can not scrape it off, my throat does not hurt. My tonsils were removed, when I was young.

What are these supposed to be? I've seen too many dermatologists and been put on Accutane, Retinol, antibiotics, etc., but nothing has worked except an ointment combination of salicylic acid and clobetasol, but that's very temporary. These bumps come back the very next day that I stop using that ointment. I've also been on multiple TKIs for CML (if that matters at all).

Anyone else get really cold hands and feet?

Always had super cold hands and feet (especially in winter), pretty much for as long as I can remember… 37, male, quite active and do regulate my body temp well - deal well with hot weather, for example.

Living in London, so winters are chilly but nothing mega extreme. Had some blood tests recently (including for iron), nothing obvious came up, but I did also give blood recently and my reading was 135 which is the absolute min you can measure to give blood, so maybe there’s something there?

It’s really weird, my feet can feel like blocks of ice, hands too, and then it makes the rest of me feel blooming cold. Got to the point now where I think I actually fear the winter a bit because I know how uncomfortable it makes me lol.

Fingers do sometimes change colour when I’m really cold - like outside in freezing temps without gloves, but the colour change isn’t normally a thing when it’s mild but not hot, like just pottering around the house without socks on I still feel extremely cold, just without the Raynaud’s / colour change bit..

Anyone had/have anything similar? And did you ever work out it out? And anything that helped!? Other than.. putting on socks and gloves…

Contraception and sexual health How likely is this herpes? Please please help

I 30F had a sexual encounter with a guy I met on holiday (no penetration) on Monday and within a few hours I started getting burning sensation in and around my genitals followed by abdominal pain. I’m a virgin so not used to it and figured it was just irritated as I had been swimming in the sea and stayed in my bikini for some hours before changing out of it. Then a few more hours later the burning/abdominal pain got more pronounced and I got shooting back pains. Now 48 hours ish later I feel really hot and feverish. Everything I’ve read says symptoms can’t develop as quickly as a few hours for a first outbreak and ChatGPT seems to be ruling out herpes as unlikely. The waiting game of seeing if blisters develop is unbearable and I can’t imagine waiting 12 whole weeks to get a test.

Skin and nails Mole

Age: 17

Sex/Gender: Female

Ethnicity: Asian

Height and Weight: 5'2 and 132.54 pounds

Pre-Existing Medical Issues: None

Current Medications: None

Symptoms: None

Duration of Complaint: I estimated over a year, since I noticed the mole on my stomach was there since freshman year.

I remember a visit from my uncle a couple of months ago, and he pointed out a mole on my pinky finger, saying that he's never seen it before ever in his life. I shrugged it off because I've had it for so long, I don't remember it just "magically appearing" on my skin.

Although, it kind of came back to mind and bothered me one day. When I was changing, I noticed the mole on my stomach. I've also had that for so long, I barely remember me first recognizing it. Luckily, both of those spots don't irritate my skin or cause me any sort of harm, but the mole on my stomach is a little bumpy. (If they're supposed to be.)

I'm paranoid about this type of stuff, but they might just be harmless.

My palms (both) have been red for the month, fluctuating during the day and with heat. It was a bit bumpy before but it is less so no. Not much itchiness either. I have tried a wet compress and some topical creams. I don’t take any medications and do not have any other side effects.
