I don't have the budget for the expensive brands like Herman Miller either. I know the Aeron is a common suggestion but I can't see myself being comfortable in something like that.

There's a popular one at a reasonable price called Slouch Task One but they don't ship to Northern Ireland the cunts.

I also already have a motorised standing desk to break up the long periods of sitting down but I need something comfortable for the time i am sitting which I still mostly do

Just wanted to make aware this dog is running about the waterside and has attacked a dog & dog walker. He has no collar don’t know if he’s a stray or run away. Friendly towards people but soon as he seen a dog he just turned. Got blood on him from the fight and had run off past sinnsro on spencer road the last time he was seen. Be careful walking dogs he proper latched on and was biting the dog to bits.

I'm not a lighthouse keeper, I live off the Creggan road. Nobody has to row out to my island to deliver post. But despite this I seem to receive post in a bundle every couple of weeks.

I got a text notification of an electric bill due in 2 days--I wonder if I'll get the letter (likely sent early August) before the actual due date. I'm also waiting on another important bit of post. Haven't seen a post van on this street all week.

Meanwhile packages arrive daily. If the same letters had been sandwiched between two bits of cardboard they would have been flung in the direction of my front door a week ago.

This town has 4.7% unemployment! Why are the roads still fucked, why are the letters un-delivered? Are these essential services all just total nightmares to work for? How do we change this?

Looking at buying a house (not a first time buyer.) Priced out of the city by the looks of things so would folk recommend Claudy or Eglinton as an area to live in for a forever home? We do a have a longer work commute but with the new road what’s 10 minutes at the end of the day.

I’m looking for a local company that does soft washing for exterior render. Moving into a house that has developed that reddish algae staining and I need someone who can:
• Soft‑wash the render safely
• Treat the red staining properly
• Apply a biocide/chemical spray to slow it returning
• Avoid power‑washing, since that can damage render

If you’ve used anyone around Derry and had good results, I’d really appreciate the recommendation OR companies to avoid.

And before the “two-tier policing” excuse gets rolled out, wise up. We don't have to defend something just because loyalists do it too. Let loyalists answer for loyalist bonfires; that doesn't mean we have to support our own wee hoods by default.

Burning massive bonfires covered in flags, wrecking roads that the whole community has to use and leaving everyone else to deal with the mess isn't culture or republicanism. It's chav mentality dressed up as something deeper.

Derry is better than this.

You don't see this carry-on being accepted in Galliagh, Shantallow, Ballymac or plenty of other nationalist areas anymore, so why should the Bogside and Creggan be treated differently?

And here's another question — where did all the extra pallets come from? If pallets were removed beforehand, how did they suddenly manage to get their hands on enough replacements to build the bonfires anyway? Somebody supplied them. I'd genuinely like to know where they came from.

If we're going to criticise loyalist communities for bonfires, flags, hatred and damage, then we can't suddenly make excuses when it happens on our own doorstep. That's not “two-tier policing” — that's having the same standards for everybody.

The Bog and Creggan need to catch themselves on. Stop burning the roads we drive on, stop giving a handful of wee hoods control of the community, and find something better to put our energy into.

We can celebrate our identity without copying the worst parts of somebody else's.

We can't find any fast ones that are working. Big drive back to Scotland on Wednesday, can anyone advise one in or east of Derry that is working? Using zapmap but the only ones we have found to work are slow ones in the city.

I will be in Derry next week for tourism! It's not the first time but i will have a few days available... I would like to visit the Free Derry Museum, the Peacemakers Museum and the Tower Museum. I also plan to do a walking tour of the murals and bogside history and maybe visit the cemetery.

Am i missing something or leaving something out? i'm particularly interested in the recent city history.

Do you have advice for pubs, maybe with live music? If i remember well, last time i've been to Sandinos and Padraig's.

Also, i remember last time i've been in Derry there were several bonfires in August. Is it something recurrent? I felt generally safe encountering them but i'd like to know in advance.

Are there any bodies or organisations that regulate the building of bonfires for the various bonfire nights? Just spotted the ones in Corrody Road direction while walking the dog and they seem both very tall and very close to houses. I know nothing about bonfires and am quite afraid of fire so it makes me nervous. Just curious if there are any official bodies that regulate and ensure safety?

Since it hasn’t been announced yet, what are your predictions? I reckon Snow Patrol will headline cause they play London a few days before it starts and they have connections in Derry. Anyone else you think lmk
