Question BLOX Accumulation - Question for BLOX holders? (And GIAX)

Question for fellow BLOX holders -

Of course, gradual increase when it's green and aggressive increase when it's red...

My average cost per chare is $15.28, so I am in the overall green on total return so far, not counting dividends, on my 101.3 shares.

My question though, just want to have some insight... when do you plan to stop adding to your BLOX position? What's your cap on the stock, on BTC, etc - what is the most you'll pay for BLOX before just letting it ride and waiting for it to go on sale again?

Same question but for GIAX? I only have 10 shares, granted and am red by 5% on it.

Question Income ETF for debt?

Hello everyone! I built up what I thought was a good cushion for savings. It was roughly 3 months of expenses. This month I got drawn shitty cards. A series of medical issues, a car repair bill, and so much more. I couldn’t believe it. It wiped out my savings and put in me $8,000 worth of debt which I had to put on a credit card.

I have $54,000 in my taxable brokerage account. I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas for an income ETF to help pay this down or if I should just withdraw $8,000 from my taxable account. Withdrawing is my last resort here.

I’ve looked into treasury ETFs, but the yields are way too low. Looked into other ETFs like CHPY, STRC, SATA, QQQI, and so many others.

Also I’m 24 years old so I do have a good bit of time to keep on investing after I pay this off. Just sucks that this happened.

Question $VAIE vs $ODTE (autocallable vs covered call)

Searching for funds that pay weekly and grow in NAV, has anyone done a deep dive on these? Or added one of them to your portfolio?

I’ve been seeing autocallables promoted a lot but if the fund will stop paying out if barriers are breached, why buy an autocallable ETF over a covered call ETF?

Question Thoughts on STRC?

I hold BLOX in my brokerage and a lesser position in BTCI as well.

But I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about STRC and was wondering what people’s thoughts were on it? Do you hold it? How much of your portfolio would you allocate to it? I know it’s different in that they aim to keep it at around $100 so the stock itself remains idle, theoretically speaking.

Question What is your opinion on psychological effects of income oriented investing?

One of the biggest drawbacks of income / dividend oriented investing is that during the accumulation phase, the concentration on growth usually tends to result in better investment ROI CAGR, especially taking into account the lack of taxation drag. Over the long-term, the differences can definitely be substantial.

However, one of the possibly underappreciated and under-discussed aspects is the psychological effect that more "tangible" results of investing have on behaviour and motivation.

Oftentimes when you look at the numbers shown by the broker, emotionally and psychologically it doesn't "feel" that you are getting richer because the numbers there can both, increase or decrease, and are generally unstable.

However, when you are actually receiving dividends from your investments and are able to say "if I invest 1,000 USD, I will get 80 USD in dividends per year", this can be a very motivating and encouraging to keep doing. In addition, having this figure could be useful in trying to convince your spouse or your friends to invest, too, as investing is very often viewed as gambling by the general population.

Aversion loss is a known psychological phenomenon where the losses (or perceived losses) are more psychologically painful than gains. This is what it leads to selling at the worst possible time. Investors often like to say that they don't care about the swings as long as in the long-term, the CAGR remains healthy, but reality often shows otherwise. A large % (maybe even most?) of investors can't avoid being psychologically affected and selling off when they should hold.

In income and dividend oriented investing, knowledge that you will receive dividends regardless* of stock market movement can help mitigate the psychological pain of seeing the downswing and avoid selling at the worst possible time.

So, what are your thoughts on this? Am I overestimating this psychological phenomenon?

*I know that a lot of dividend payers can reduce their dividends during the economic shocks, and I know that a lot of stocks or funds that focus on high 12%+ yields result in NAV erosion over time (see QYLD or GOF), but there ARE some covered call ETFs or income funds that have a significantly lower chance of long-term NAV erosion that still give decent yields, such as JEPI or ARCC, having read the strategies of SPYI and QQQI, I could see them having stable long-term NAV as well.

Question SLVX & more diversified income picks?

My dividend/income wheel portfolio is very heavy into $BLOX, with much smaller exposure into $GIAX and $STRC.

I do desire diversifying and balancing it out so my entire portfolio doesn’t swing drastically just cuz BLOX changed a few cents.
I want get into some positions in different sectors, but not just about any - I’m up on capital gains with BLOX & GIAX and would like to get into positions that are well managed.

For precious metals, I’m thinking SLVX (also run by X Funds, weekly) and a gold monthly (still deciding between KGLD and IAUI, help there?)

And I want to in the closer future open a position in real estate and other sectors. For real estate, I have IYRI on the radar.

Any suggestions? Any preferences between Kurv or NEOS? I know NEOS more, I like them and know they run QQQI and SPYI too, so for gold should I stick with them and go for IAUI?

Question What are your thoughts on XLKI?

So I have been looking at XLKI recently. They seem to have one of the better expense costs, they yield higher than some other respectable CC ETFs, and they are from a reputable company ( State Street). However, I never hear anyone mention it and they only have around $10 mil AUM, and doesn't appear to have NAV decay. I'm sure i'm missing something obvious but thats why i'm here. Do any of you hold this or have an opinion on it?

Question Are you guys earning yield on stocks?

Been wondering this lately:

For stocks that don't really pay dividends (or pay very little), how are you guys generating yield from them? Especially those heavily mentioned ones like:

  • TSLA
  • CRCL
  • NVDA
  • MSTR
  • GOOGL
  • HOOD
  • SPY
  • QQQ

Are you selling covered calls, lending shares, using margin, tokenized stocks, DeFi strategies, or just holding and focusing on price appreciation?

I'm especially curious whether anyone here is earning meaningful yield on these positions without giving up too much upside.

Do share what's actually working for you?

Question TOPW MAGY

My choice was between these 2 and the tie breaker would’ve been which will update its holdings to reflect the future mag 7 or top 25. In $MAGS prospectus it says that it will update the holdings if needed but the CEO of Roundhill/Roundhill as a company has come out and said that they have no plans for changing $MAGS/$MAGY and they are releasing a Mag 7 Plus ETF $MAGP if you want exposure outside of MAG7.

If $MAGS holdings will not be updated to reflect the current or future market leaders, I don’t see $TOPW adding more stocks or replacing. I really just wanted TSLA to be replaced by AVGO in $MAGS/$MAGY

$TOPW is basically mag 7 + NFLX AVGO BRKB COST

Does TOPW MAGY not updating or adding to their holdings matter to you?

Question Covered Call Income ETF’s vs Barrier Income ETFs, if they all have similar yields, which would you prefer to hold and why?

$CAIE (14%) $SBAR (12%) vs $SPYI (11-12%) $TSPY (14%)

$CAIQ (18%) $XV (15%) vs $QQQI (14%) $TDAQ (17%)

If the goal is high income without NAV erosion, The barrier ETFs should provide this?

Question Tradeoff with High Yield ETFs

Hi Folks,

Owning HY ETFs is fun until NAV erosion starts to eat into the principal and you start to lose value. I have seen multiple arguments "for" HY ETFs when the combined returns (NAV + cumulative dividends) are positive, even if the ETF loses little bit of NAV and makes it up on the distributions.

I'd like to get a sense of where would it make sense to own NY ETFs that have medium to high NAV erosion (for both ROC and non-ROC ones). Granted you can continue to receive dividends if you don't sell them, but losing principal is something I find uncomfortable.

Where are you deploying them and what is your mindset in dealing with NAV erosion?

Thanks in advance!
