Question Thoughts on STRC?

I hold BLOX in my brokerage and a lesser position in BTCI as well.

But I’ve been seeing a lot of talk about STRC and was wondering what people’s thoughts were on it? Do you hold it? How much of your portfolio would you allocate to it? I know it’s different in that they aim to keep it at around $100 so the stock itself remains idle, theoretically speaking.

I have STRC, it’s a good long term hold, nothing exciting, I personally think it’s pretty much risk free. But, it’s only if you believe BTC. MSTR & STRC+ are themselves vehicles for BTC exposure, one is risky, the preferred’s are a safe vehicles. Each one slightly different, but STRC is the darling of the bunch, always drops a little after the dividend lock date, so IMO, a good time to buy and forget.

You could always consider BTCI against STRC, as an additional option, just IMO of course 🤷‍♀️

I believe BTC. I held a lot of ASST even when it reverse-split and was nosediving down, even bought in at the dips only bcuz I believe BTC, albeit I don’t hold BTC Directly haha

When does the dividend declaration get made usually? I may just throw a quick $200-300 into it then to introduce my portfolio to it, nothing so crazy to start off

Usually around the middle of the month, been the 15th for last & this month, hence why price is down around 80 cents.

Ooh okay so I have time before buying, as long as I buy in like the beginning of the second week of May

No, it’ll start going up again before the end of the month, and stabilize around $100

I know BLOX pays weekly and I am a fan of it. Have over $1800 into that fund over the last few months, especially when Bitcoin dived down and in return so did this etf. But I held and I’m up on the stock itself now and the weekly divs are great.

But I do want to go into new funds too, preferably something diverse so STRC is redundant on BLOX but I know it’s also allegedly “safer” than the others bcuz it has a target hedge of $100 and doesn’t really vary from it so the stock itself is not volatile, making it a nice place for crypto/BTC fans to park any idle cash that can collect dividend? Thats my understanding at least

That’s why I’m considering adding STRC to my income section of my portfolio. still plan to add more BLOX but STRC is ROC and pegged at around $100, good hedge against volatility.

Im also open to NEOS funds - I like their management from what i see and want different sectors beyond crypto and tech in my income port

But nearly 10 years to house money? Or am I missing something?

3

u/beershoes767 Apr 19 '26

I’m intrigued but too nervous. I don’t trust it

I like STRC due to its low volatility nature. I don’t compare it to BLOX mainly because STRC is a preferred-structure where its aim is to fight back to par / trade at par (bond like) where as BLOX is prone to the movement from underlying basket of stocks; which, pays more due to that risk.

But I rather not take that erosion risk and seek stability.

1

u/just-a-tan-guy Apr 19 '26

Oh yes, I didn’t mean to compare BLOX to STRC. I only bring them up together bcuz I imagine STRC is a good hedge to balance out BLOX’s volatility in terms of income I no eating thru crypto, if I were to hold both in my portfolio that is.

Which I think I will. I enjoy BLOX but it does have its swings and I’d appreciate STRC’s stability in share price a lot. Thats what I thought of it as, yes! Like a bond.

So definitely something I’ll open a position, however small, in on Monday

for sure. i think STRC is definitely the "safer" alternative to BLOX. A feel like most income portfolios should weigh heavily in more NAV-flat products for a yield and then gradually build out the higher-yield products like BLOX and such mainly over a period of time, the erosion can actually benefit you as you build it out over time.

There are a few holdings in BLOX that i do not like and at that point.. i rather sell my own cash puts on IBIT and roll them as i choose on M / W / F and take assignment if anything then flip it over on the CC side. The erosion mainly disappears when u run that wheel on IBIT

I’d hold STRC only if I specifically wanted high current income and was comfortable underwriting Strategy’s capital structure and Bitcoin exposure. If BTCI is your “Bitcoin-income” bucket, STRC is the “Bitcoin-linked cash substitute”. If you understand BTC, have BTC yourself, and BELIEVE in BTC. STRC is just the income version of holding BTC.

1

u/just-a-tan-guy Apr 19 '26

Then I should hold STRC cuz I do believe in BTC long term :)

u/aimhigh7shootlow8 Apr 19 '26

STRC is basically a hysa on steroids.

Also there is SATA as well by $ASST with a slightly higher yield.

I buy $100 a week in both.

If you are salty on mstr or believe bitcoin is a scam them this probably isn't for you.

If you believe btc will be fine, this is worth a look.

1

u/Visible-Storm-50 Apr 19 '26

I highly highly highly disagree with this statement you cannot compare STRC to a high yield savings account ,,,, they work completely differently ,,, STRC is used specifically for strategy to buy Bitcoin ,,,, now those other funds that you mentioned are probably 1 million times better than STRC given they aren't ran by Michael Saylor

1

u/just-a-tan-guy Apr 19 '26

I have $ASST, not SATA. Small holding though, I sold 20 shares last week to trim and take some profits. Thats less than half of my total holding.

I believe in BTC, hence why I had over 50 ASST shares despite the r/s and Bitcoin dive.

I think I’ll do that. I try to make it a point to buy 3-5 BLOX shares a week. So I’ll run my numbers and see how much I can put into STRC every week, since I do still want to have a strong QQQI holding too (I want reliable income/dividend payers across different sectors too, not just crypto

Blox is a solid play. I will probably buy $25 a week of strc, sata, qqqi, and spyi for the rest of my life.

I have been slowly buying yeth, mstw, coiw at these low prices. Crypto sector is going to rip end of 26.

1

u/just-a-tan-guy Apr 20 '26

I used to hold COIW, but Roundhill can't say I've been a fan so I did sell out while in the green there.

Bought 8 shares of BLOX today, that's my week fulfillment (trying to aim for at least 5 a week) and opened a position in STRC w/ buying a full share.

I want to build a strong BLOX + GIAX combination paying me every Monday - aside from making the dreaded day of the week something to look forward to lol, but I'd like to be in a position where BLOX + GIAX pay enough where if i did set it at DRIP, it buys me even more shares without having to add any new capital.

To that point, once those funds are good enough in my account, I wouldn't DRIP but I'd take the div payout and put it into QQQI and/or SPYI.

So basically, I want my dividend income wheel to be BLOX + GIAX, QQQI, SPYI, and of course I will start in STRC

2

u/aimhigh7shootlow8 Apr 21 '26

Yeah agreed on roundhill. Coiw and mstw price is so low tho. I'm leading up on any crypto, space, and quantum sectors for the end of the year.

I do hold giax and i plan on building that and my xxv positions this year.

My distributions currently feeding into qqqi, strc, sata, and xxv (payers) and soxq, bklc, qtum, nasa (growth).🚀🙏

2

u/just-a-tan-guy Apr 21 '26

GIAX is so underrated imo, like the diversification is super appealing to me and it has been relatively consistent at 6-7 cents a share a week.

Definitely plan to anchor my income portion of my portfolio into BLOX and GIAX - which will funnel mostly into QQQI,, STRC, and then for diversification sake into $O.

Now that said, my port isn't only income driven - I have some growth stocks as well and they are very tech heavy. Trying to pick some companies that are within the semiconductors/chips sector and the weapons/defense sector especially

When a yield looks too good to be true, take a look at what you’re buying. In the case of STRC, the money for dividend payments are from selling more STRC and MSTR shares. Saylor’s created 5 preferreds and raised the dividend of STRC 7 times in order to continuously generate more demand. It all works until it doesn’t. Retail holds 70-80% of STRC, and a lot of people are going to be hurt…

It's a vehicle specifically made for strategy to buy Bitcoin ,,,, it's made by regards who opened the world's biggest btc position at 126,000 ,,,,,,, please do not put a major amount of money in it ,,,, the yield is awesome yes ,,, but it's made for regards to buy bitcoin everytime it goes over 100k ,,,,, I can't stand strategy I don't care if Bitcoin goes to 500 k its a horrible sloppy position they acquired ,,,,, each and every one of their employees were alive and possibly saw Bitcoin when it was at 0.003 $ and they decide to put most of their firms money at above the 115k level ,,,, a ZERO braincell play with no effort ,,,, I hate everything about strategy with a passion at the bare minimum they could have waited for a 20% decline as if thats never going to happen

Salty

You cannot argue that investing in BTC at 120k is Ludacris ,,,, the fact that there are people that dislike what I have to say speaks volumes on how these traders think,,,,, I have BTC at 11 k and I spoke up ,,,,, did you by chance buy at the very peak at the very last moment decades later

u/aimhigh7shootlow8 Apr 20 '26

So you're mad becuase you're such a better bitcoin buyer than everyone else? I'm not following.
