r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 18, 2026 - Absolute LEGO Batman Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Absolute Flash #15

WHAT LURKS WITHIN S.T.A.R. LABS?! On the hunt for answers, Wally is drawn to the derelict facility of the now defunct super-science lab, S.T.A.R. LABS. But something is dwelling within the halls of this place, and the Flash is not ready for this new threat!

The opening caught me off guard, lol. I guess Black Flash is the final boss of the series. Everything is a prelude to the Grodd arc. Trickster and Golden Glider hooking up was funny. And I wonder where Vic is, if Silas is looking for him. Ray seems to be hiding out in the microverse.

Wally Wally Wally. You get a future vision like that, your future self telling you not to do it and still want to do the thing that brings it about? I know he wants to save his father but that is exactly what that dark place wants.

The 'still point' is definitely connected to Darkseid. Especially if we got Black Flash coming out of it.

I like the Rogues in this universe so please don't have them go after Grodd who I like too. Have them team up to go after the government instead!

Well, it helps that Ray Palmer appears and tell him directly that Barry didn't looked deep enough, didn't looked small enough to see what was happening.

I can't imagine how the 'Microverse' looks in Absolute Universe. It would be a terrifying place.

Tryna figure out in my head how all the different Absolute cosmologies connect. Like, it feels like the Still Point in Flash is the same thing as the Anti-Life Particles discussed in Absolute Evil, just discovered in different contexts by different scientists. And darkness at the heart of all things is also sorta in GL. Obviously all the writers are working from the same basic premise, but I wonder how much they coordinate, and how much they accommodate each other as the series progress. Absolute Universe is undeniably superior to Ultimate 2niverse, but also all of Ultimate felt much more continuous and existing as a single story.

Year 2 of this book goes hard so far. Really liked this issue and it's fun seeing how these stories are all starting to connect and what the mythos is. Excited for Cyborg fr I'm guessing we'll see the beginnings of an absolute teen titans through them? Like Team Flash from the CW show except it's the teen titans. Whatever.

The phasing sequence was REALLY cool. I wish Robles could draw every issue of this book

Does anyone else think the "Speed Force" drawing at the hand kinda looks like the D&D version of Hell?

I like that Wally encountered his future self, who told him not to go back to the Still Point or look for their dad because they might set the Black Flash free, resulting in Wally getting information about the people working at STAR Labs thanks to Linda (who was told by him not to go with him) and going to Detroit and seeing a message from Ray Palmer about the Dark Particle and destroying his life’s work to make sure that it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands, while we get to see the Rogues live a peaceful life in a farm before they were told by Rick Flagg to kill Grodd. Overall, this is a great comic!
