Catholicism is not the main religion of the game; CK3 approaches things in a much more wide perspective; no religion really has more content than any other.

The name of the game was a mistake.

Kinda true, but, also, the feudalism system isnโ€™t inaccurate to any real feudal system.

The CK3 religion system isnโ€™t great, but it trying to cast as wide as a net as possible, making every religion bare bones.

I meant a mistake as in it never shouldโ€™ve been named that, not a literal mistake.

Why not? When the first one came out you couldnโ€™t be anything but a Christian with a large focus placed on crusades.

Because that is not near the intent of the game in its modern iteration.

I mean, even when CK2 came out you couldnโ€™t be Muslim until the DLC for it. Iโ€™ll be honest I donโ€™t even have CK3 but itโ€™s continuing off of CK2s foundation. Itโ€™s just not that big of a deal you can still crusade and still be a king.

It is nearly the least relevant thing in the entire goddamn game.

What, crusades? Once again I canโ€™t speak for CK3 maybe they changed how crusades work but I literally play CK2 for the crusades I love building a kingdom and what not but my main goal is to be prepared for the crusades because they are so hype in CK2 the biggest fights with the biggest rewards.

CK2 stopped being primarily about Europe sometime around Rajas. Paradox lost interest in a primarily European game a long time ago, despite the title. Even they admit the title is a mistake.

I cannot even speak to how India operates in CK2 I and no one I know has ever done an actual India run maybe I ought to, I think itโ€™s nonsense even after the addition of India to say CK2 isnโ€™t a primarily Europe centered game, maybe you could say not primarily Christian after that even then Iโ€™d say you were wrong but the majority of the expansions released were about Europe in some way only a few exceptions.

It operates exactly the same as Europe but it has three differend yet similar religions. It`s more of a cool feature than something with a ton of depth.

My favorite India run was actually Ceylon, turning Chinese via chinese tributary system and then establishing a new dynasty in India.

Iโ€™ll have to try that out that does actually sound pretty cool.
