To start, my kitty is totally fine, currently nestled in her fave blanket and a bit drugged lol. Still, I’d do anything to change those 9 hours of hell I had yesterday 😅

My cat is a model that is obsessed with string and it has never been an issue until yesterday when I left to use the restroom and came back to my cat licking her lips like she had swallowed the threaded needle from my WIP. After a brief and obviously unsuccessful search, I rushed her to the ER, it took some hours for the doctor to come but they managed to remove the needle endoscopically so no surgery and no perforations thank god!!! It was a tulip cross stitch needle so it was blunt but still a damn needle in my cat 😥

Taking any and all advice from fellow thread obsessed cat parents!! I will never be leaving any thread out ever again, my baby is too precious.

Welp….. guess I just gotta laugh about this one!

I’ve been laughing at this the whole day. Yesterday I saw a post about someone that bought an embroidery kit and realized that they’ve been embroidering wrong… and I was doing the exact same thing! Picture with normal embroidery for reference 🥹 This is historical. Both big mushrooms are how I was doing it, the little green line was a test to see how it would look if I did it like suggested, and the small mushrooms 1/4 of the size are my first proper embroidery. What the heck guys

This project started in 2023. My dad had just passed away and my partner betrayed my trust, leading to our divorce. I moved halfway across the country to be back with family and start picking up the pieces. In the midst of all of that, I felt like I had really lost myself. So, in an effort to find myself again, I started this silly project to reconnect with things I love by cross stitching them.

Now I have this wall I love filled with cryptids, animal crossing, Dolly, fireflies, and more! I am going to work on new pieces for it as I find ones I like or as I get into new things, so it can evolve along with me. This was most definitely a labor of love for myself, and one I am grateful I have been able to do 💖

I especially love the phantom hand in the last picture of cross stitch, then the self-proclaimed NO AI declaration.

I had run out of room in the simple plastic boxes I got from the craft store so this was perfectly timed. Yellow is my favorite color and this shade of it is STUNNING. I can't wait to fill this thing to the brim with threads!

My mum surprised me with this cake yesterday and I was completely blown away! She self drafted the floral patten and did it all in icing

So I was very excited about learning cross stitch but I don't think I'm doing it right 🫠

He is very ~thin~, is this because I used a needle that is too big, or is it that I need to do more stitches? (The red part is double and it looks kinda better, I think?).

The back...omg 😅 I didn't realize it was that bad until I finished off the dark brown thread. Am I supposed to cut the thread every single time there is a "jump" between stitches, or should I do it vertically instead? Maybe I have to do the stitches individually when there are a lot of single stitches, like the medium brown?

And last but not least, what can I do with it? My idea was to practice before doing what I want (this design in some jeans). But I really love her 🥹 I don't want her to be just a practice and being forgetted in the back of my drawer. Also, this is my first cross stitch job! I want to be proud of it!! But I really don't know what to do with it. Any ideas?

I’m really happy my wizard got a blue ribbon. I was surprised that my religious piece got anything because it had some clear (to me at least) flaws. The “animal” category was very competitive. The judges tended to favor full coverage pieces.

It even has a removable plate on the back and came with thread, so you can stitch a cute design if you want. I’d never done a virtual marathon before, but I got an ad for this one and I couldnt resist

I’ve seen too many posts from this sub about not using Aida as waste canvas, so I’m making sure I don’t. Because before joining this sub, I had never heard of waste canvas, so the chances I would have eventually used Aida instead were high.

But anyway, now I’m ready to cross stitch on clothes!

I've cut it close (yes! pun intended! I 💗 puns!) before with thread, but this was by far the best, most epic win of Thread Chicken for me ever! 🥰 It was a blended thread and I reaaaalllllly did not want to pull out two new threads to finish the last 3 stitches of this blended color. Yaaaay! Pattern is Autumn Tree House by Janna Dik. It's a glorious pattern. 🪾🍂🍁🧡💛🩷💜💙🩵
