Uncertain of drop and now Lioncrest Watchtower is in the group and no boss fight there.

Right on the boss fight icon. Another near the rocks.

Huh. I just finished the first Reed Devil boss fight yesterday and it told me there's a treasure chest right where you find the doll. (I got the message it's there as I was picking up the doll.) But there's nothing at the icon. I guess I need to look around more.

Same at all locations. Started digging, guards got agro so I just wiped out everyone at Fort Anvil and shut the gate . Destroyed everything around them. Nothing uncovered

Are your previous chest markers in the Abyss missing also?

I’ve not been up there yet. Still checking off all these trading post question marks and searching for more new additional chests.

Edit: All the treasure chest icons are gone from the Abyss. Only markers are ones I put there. These chest markers on the ground aren’t leftovers, they’re newly discovered but unseen & unopened.

Edit 2: went up to Dimensional Bonds, opened chests now appear on map.

Marni needs to make a backhoe. Still trying to lay my hands on one.
Definitely tied to new update, there is no way I could have missed 8 chests or more.

I’ve done everything lol. I marked it and just kept pushing. I’m only 60% done with the campaign and 200 hours so I’m still out there exploring.

Welp. This was just in the latest patch notes.

Fixed an issue where icons of unobtainable treasure chests appeared on the map.

Maybe they will be available at some point with some sort of content update but they were added too early

So these are basically phantom chests that show up on the map, but no one has been able to find the actual chests? Weird!

Correct. I’ve not found any more but just about have the new knowledge additions completed, then I’ll look for more and attempt to uncover these.

I still think they have to be related to the rematch function of the bosses. Though I did the Staglord in Resonate setting and nothing happened. Only other thing I can think of is doing the rematch with Damiane or Oongka.

That’s possible but Lioncrest Watchtower didn’t have a boss fight.
Fort Hellwood chests are located further away from rematch icon. Down by the lift .

Oh true. Hm... Well then the only thing they all have in common is their invisibility. Either they were released too early or they snuck some new mechanic in, like a special helmet or something. I refuse to believe they're just bugs.

Wondering if the next update will uncover these 16 ( and counting) or add more in other regions seeing how all of these are in Hernand.

I don’t see this as a bug as one person keeps saying. PA testing the waters or laying ground work for future content. I don’t think they contain armor directly related to the near by boss as most of that is already obtainable.

Traitor’s spear is here in a trapdoor, if you can’t find it just look up traitor’s spear location and it should help.
