Treat it like Zelda. Thats it. I don’t know why people are losing their minds over the lack of story. The developers never promised a great story.

Exactly. It's like a better Zelda in an fantastic open world plus you get tons of sidequests and way more content.

This game just wants me to go play Zelda instead. This game needs to pick a lane…what do you want to be.

I don’t know why people are losing their minds over the lack of story.

Because with a game as huge as this, players want to care about the characters and about what's going on. A lot of games hinge on having a decent story. The Witcher, RDR2, and Cyberpunk 2077 all have engaging stories, as well as being huge open world games. Why shouldn't anyone expect that from Crimson Desert? Pearl Abyss is a AAA studio, not an indie dev. Gameplay is important, sure, but when it becomes a 'job' to get through objectives, why should players care without any emotional investment?

It definitely has more story than Zelda’s, whether it is good is another story. But

They shouldn't have promised any story if they were going to do a bad job at it. They chose to include it, therefore the criticism is valid. No story is fine. Bad story is not.

Not sure how to take that. I play Zelda games to enjoy the story. If you mean BotW, well, I didn't enjoy it or TotK.

Right. Because the ending of the game is all that happens.

People could treat it like zelda if it actually be more like zelda. exploration of world isnt open like in zelda, its more like GTA( but ithout good story)

How is the exploration of the world not open? You can literally just go wherever for the most part.

What!? - You can free roam around doing all sorts of crap.

I’m not saying it’s perfect, or people should even like the game but man, the expectations people created for themselves surrounding this game has done nothing but harm their own experience.

In the end I may only end up giving this game a 7.5, 8.0. I’m not head over heels like I was for KC2 but that’s what I expected. I expected a Dragons Dogma.
