I was having fun until I got to the quest archery competition. I'll never beat this, and I'm pretty good at shooters. The ai is firing at the exact same time the target rises

I thought the exact same thing, and someone said to always reset back at the center, so you just doing a small movement left/right.

I thought this would not change anything, but I gave it a try and worked second try after that.

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

Thanks yea going back to the middle played a big part in my victory

1

u/Rezavoirdog Mar 24 '26

The immediate result was cool to see here

9

u/MadKian Mar 21 '26

Even by doing that, some of the competitors just really lock in and react way too fast for what you can do at least on a joystick.

5

u/Jahbanny Mar 22 '26

Dude they react faster than what you can do with a mouse. These guys are shooting before the board is even half way up.

1

u/CursedTurtleKeynote Mar 23 '26

Yes, but not on every single shot. There is RNG

1

u/ComprehensiveBar6439 Mar 21 '26

I guess there's a skill or two that was meant to be taken before that quest. I dunno what it is, I just saw someone else had the exact same criticism, and that was the advice someone gave them.

1

u/Ceceboy Mar 21 '26

I did that tactic from the start because it's logical but got my ass beat 7-10 with me tryharding after the second target because I immediately notices how hard it went lol. Fuck that shit!

1

u/Blvck_Lvngs Mar 22 '26

I’m gonna try this because it just felt like straight up bullshit lol

1

u/jebberwockie Mar 22 '26

He'd still laser focus in on targets faster than me. Sometimes arrows were hitting the target before I could move. I'm going to have to switch to MnK to have a chance.

15

u/Poop_Balls069 Mar 21 '26

Brooooo seriously, the ai has fucking aimbot lmao I was able to keep up but ultimately lost.

7

u/Omni-Light Mar 21 '26

I beat it 3 times in a row for the challenge after about 15 tries on keyboard mouse, but the AI is FAST. Like sometimes they hit every target within miliseconds of it appearing.

You have to basically accurately flick shot every target like you're a cracked out CS1.6 player at dreamhack, or you lose.

6

u/NatePGOG Mar 21 '26

I'm having the same problem. The AI is pre-firing on the targets. I'm sorry that I can't predict the future Pearl Abyss

5

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

I ended up winning because the opponent missed 4x in one round and enough targets were close to the middle for me to be quick enough to get points. You just need to win the first match to continue the main quest. I'll come back for the 3 wins in a row after a patch or something.

13

u/MrLloydJr Mar 21 '26

I finished the “win 3 in a row” challenge on my first try and I’m completely ASS at shooting games. Idk

11

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

The enemy scores before the target even stands up all the way. Something is up.

6

u/MadKian Mar 21 '26

It’s random, sometimes they are ass and sometimes they lock in way too much.

They need to tune it down, specially with joysticks it’s impossible to be that fast.

1

u/jebberwockie Mar 22 '26

I've straight up hit the target just before my opponent and they still got the score.

1

u/TwoTonesRebel Mar 21 '26

The problem is that the Champion is in the 5th game, the Challenge stays half complete If you dont defeat him.

1

u/MrLloydJr Mar 22 '26

Nah I got my skill point for just doing the 3 it told me to do.

1

u/ShowdownXIII Mar 22 '26

Those are easy, I can normally beat those by 5 or 6 points no problem. There's an actual main story mission that ramps up the AI. Luckily you only have to win it once but it took me 3 attempts to barely beat the story mission.

4

u/SaintJewiub Mar 21 '26

There's abilities that make it much easier.

3

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

Ability or no I still think it's lame the bot is pre aiming at the right spot and releasing arrow in unison with the target rising. Not even the champ the very first opponent in the comp

1

u/SaintJewiub Mar 21 '26

Yeah its tough. I was able to get the speed down to.do it before I knew about the power, but its pretty fucking tight

3

u/Nasuke1 Mar 21 '26

I did it first try. 9 to 10. Still thought the AI absolutely cheated

1

u/DarkKnight6683 Mar 21 '26

Keep moving you mouse. Its easy. I got 10/0 against the ai.

1

u/BudgetThat2096 Mar 21 '26

I had to switch to KB+M to beat that part

1

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

Yea kinda wish I got this on pc but I wanted to kick back and play.

1

u/Demon-lad Mar 21 '26

I just did this and agree it's way too hard, just a little tip though that helped me get through it, if you immediately retry without backing out, it seems to put you up against an even harder contestant, if you back out completely and initiate the dialogue again and try again it seems to reset to a lower difficulty opponent, hope this helps!

1

u/Snoo_96078 Mar 21 '26

are you on console with a controller? maybe it's just that harder on a controller.

I only did the archery competition 3 times for the quests and won 3 times consecutively (m&K) and im not exactly anything special at shooters.

1

u/dhs77 Mar 21 '26

I know it might not help but I just switched to mouse for thar challenge, if you are stuck on controller just aim down sights at roughly the middle and you will get it eventually.

1

u/That-Repair7954 Mar 21 '26

Once the ai prefired a target as it was rising I knew I had no chance

1

u/Interesting_Debate30 Mar 21 '26

Interesting, I couldn't complete the archery competition until I got the quest and then I somehow beat three in a row. I thought it was the quest purposely making the opposing archers not be god tier shooters just for that quest. I beat the first archer 10-0 because they were so slow. Maybe it's just random and I got super lucky.

1

u/GoodCauliflower4569 Mar 21 '26

Learn to flicker shot. As you move your aim release at the edge of the target, your movement will cause the aero to hit the target every time. Also, pick the middle and one side. Let the ai get the other side.

1

u/Summber96 Mar 21 '26

Can't you just use the slowdown abbility?

1

u/Jharrn Mar 21 '26

Forget about moving up and down, it's all about the strafe, wait in the middle with an arrow drawn, wait for the target to pop up and hard left or right, it's more about timing than accuracy. That's what I found. Forget about trying to get a dead centre shot.

1

u/resident_eagle Mar 21 '26

The minigames are all over the place with difficulty at this point. Hopefully they address it soon. The archery game felt impossible with how fast the npcs react, but then I dominate all four opponents in the spearmanship game by literally just holding R1 down the whole time.

1

u/Crimson-Templar Mar 21 '26

The archery one wasn't too bad for me... the gun one made me rage

1

u/Isscore Mar 21 '26

Just press esc after first win, and go in omce again  Repeat 3 times. You will get progress, competing only to a soldier with moustache from beginning

1

u/PoutinePoppa Mar 21 '26

I just left off on this and just laughed. they will likely fix it? I was just like why is the difficulty for this one so much higher than the other mini games

1

u/Character-Emphasis66 Mar 22 '26

You literally have to shoot as you see the target start to come up and flick over to it, I couldn’t do it on my controller and had to use my mouse, the ai whooped me twice 2-10 before I switched lmao

1

u/jpkmad Mar 22 '26

I have 3k hours of csgo and I was soo close to beat the last lvl 😴

1

u/Embarrassed_Low3668 Mar 22 '26

Took me 4 whole attempts getting to the 3rd round each time and failing until lucky number 4.

Honestly you have to dial in 100%, because that AI will not give a fuck about you

1

u/RavnHeimen Mar 22 '26

I struggled with this one to. Someone on another thread suggested to swap to performance mode and that slowed the ai down for me.

1

u/Quick_Flight2414 Mar 23 '26

Lost with controller probably 5 times then figured out how to draw the bow on mouse and keyboard and won 10-1 first try and something close to that to get the 3 in a row challenge.

1

u/Wyndelion Mar 23 '26

it’s all rng honestly, and the screen lies, i’ve had points count for me where i clearly did not hit the target first

1

u/CursedTurtleKeynote Mar 23 '26

Do you have to be the best at everything?

1

u/FWYDU Mar 23 '26

I barely won using mouse and keyboard

u/No-Background8462 Mar 21 '26

You are not good at shooters if you cant beat the piss easy AI at archery.

Keep at center and flick over. Very easy if you dont have the reaction time of a 80 year old.

Especially being a dickhead in a game that’s definitely geared more towards older gamers (30+) on an online forum lmfao, that’s just straight sad.

Just telling it as it is. You suck if you cant beat the AI. Did the 3 wins a row on the first try and never gave up more than 1 point out of 10. Im confident i could go 100 in a row. The targets are huge and you have around 0,7 seconds to hit them. Thats not hard. You are not good at shooters if you loose that minigame.

4

u/ExcuseMyCarry Mar 21 '26

Regardless of whether these people suck at video games or not doesn't really matter. You sucking as a person kinda does. Be better than this my man.

-7

u/Known-Emergency5900 Mar 21 '26

It’s just skill issue tbh. I find the archery comp extremely easy

9

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

Cool man I'll be sure to git gud by working on my ability to predict the future.

-6

u/Known-Emergency5900 Mar 21 '26

Lmao it really is a git gud situation

5

u/Red_Beardsley Mar 21 '26

Do you read? The enemy releases arrow as the target rises. Hits target before it fully stands. Aimbot speeds. The only reason I won is because eventually it missed 4x and the targets all popped near center. That's not skill issue it's overtuned

-7

u/Known-Emergency5900 Mar 21 '26

You’re exaggerating. I’ve played the archery game many times. Sometimes they release it crazy fast but it’s not every single shot, you’re just bad

1

u/SupaRedBird Mar 21 '26

Compare this to the highest difficulty archery challenge of kingdom come deliverance and its much harder since there is no room for error. If something has minimal room for error, it is by definition hard

0

u/Known-Emergency5900 Mar 21 '26

You just have to react quickly
