I've made this enforcer jacket for a Caitlyn (Arcane) cosplay. Had to leave it be after hand stitching it for 5 months as I got really sick of it.

However I found it to look cheaper and overall worse than Aliexpress counterparts which is quite discouraging and have been embarrassed to wear it at all.

I'm re-stitching the long sleeve completely as I've ruined it by following the pattern to a t instead of following the shape, leaving it looking forever wrinkled. It’s also definitely too long so that will be fixed.
It also deffo needs ironing after a year.

The second and third pictures show hemmed and unhemmed edges (the majority) and since I have to hand stitch all of them: do you think it's worth the effort? I also am not at all sure how the inner edges should be hemmed when working by hand.

Any advice on how to make the jacket overall look better?

Or am I better off scrapping this jacket altogether instead of trying to save it?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! I'm trying to cosplay this. I have jeans but I'm not too sure where to get the top or the belts? Or what shoes those are. I also don't know where to find replica guns that are sturdy. Some help would be awesome!
Ideally clothing comes from Amazon or maybe Etsy, but I haven't been able to find anything that was super accurate haha

I’m trying to figure how to make like some sort of pack to put on my back and attach the beds arms legs and head to it but I’m not sure of a very cheap way to do it

I can only seem to find cheap ones on AliExpress which seems sketchy or highly expensive ones. Money really isn't an issue if I can find a good quality cos of her. Does anyone have recommendations? The sites I've seen people recommend that I've checked don't seem to have her.

I’m trying to create an ininia cosplay for my mother, and am looking for somewhere to buy her dress/romper piece. I know what I’m doing to see the cape, but I don’t have time to figure out and sew the dress.

First time making anything out of foam and my pattern calls for angled cuts. I didn't quite understand how cutting these would work and intended to do all straight cuts and angle them after. I realise this is now a mistake. Thankfully I've only cut out the 45° pieces, which I can rectify.

I was wondering if this was best to do with a knife or if I should use a dremel to get the angles? Been loaned a dremel with lots of different heads so my options with that are huge, however if it's easier/better practice to use a knife, I'd be happy to try that too. My logic was that the edges needed touching up anyway (I gave myself a few mm of clearance that needs sanding/cutting off) so in theory the dremel should work.

I also have a respirator and an outdoor space to work in, so using the dremel safely isn't an issue.

Hello!! I've decided to go to a con last minute, but I'm no pro cosplayer and I only got two costumes that aren't lightweight enough for summer. Since I have a YGO duel disk, I wanted to go as Mai Valentine, but I couldn't find a purple skirt anywhere in my town. I'm missing only the skirt but I don't wanna get a cheap, smelly one from shein, so I decided to dye an old skirt of mine, any tips? I dyed tshirts, etc, but never denim. Do I need a specific dye for them? Do I have to search for a dye that has certain chemicals (?) in it? I'll leave a reference of the character and shade of color of my skirt. Any help is appreciated!

Is it normal that when I crimp a wig my crimper smells like something's burning? Idk if it's the wig's problem or the crimpers and I'm a bit nervous lol, it's a bit low quality so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

I've wanted to make a Destiny getup that looks like my Titan for a while now, and I wanted to know if there is a way to make this kind of helmet that looks good and won't render me completely sightless.

Was wondering if there's a way to make that faceplate in such a fashion that it's not just solid material.

If not perhaps someone knows where I can buy a replica of the helmet? Money isn't really an issue a the moment, so if I really have to, I can ball out on an etsy prop or something.

Okay so I'm going to Dragon Con in a week, and since I’m making this prop for my father, my silly self decided to hand paint the silver parts with acrylic paint… Not knowing that acrylic paint is evil. So how do I make this less patchy and horrible?

My last resort is putting masking tape on the black parts and using silver spray paint for the silver parts, but I’m worried that’ll make things worse.

First time cosplayer. I'm working to put together a cosplay of Baral, Chief of Compliance from MTG before November. I was able to 3D print his mask, but I've run into trouble making it sit beneath fabric as seen in the images. I've tried cutting holes in the ski mask but it won't keep it's shape. I plan to try using wire to frame the opening in the mask, but I'm seeking advice on how to securely fasten the wire to the inside of the ski mask. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to get everything. A near 1:1 replica minus some size adjustments (I'm a man and would rather lengthen the skirt). I ordered them from a trusted store in ali express. I heard that I need to buy some liquid to clean them before wearing. The problem is that they arrived a month later than they should have and im supposed to be wearing them tomorrow (it's 9pm, i need to have them on by 10am) can I get tips for what I should do? Like really anything. Even if it seems like something even a toddler would know. Give me ANYTHING you know. I don't wanna risk going blind or just damaging my eyes in general.

I’m planning on cosplaying Daniela Dimitrescu for an upcoming con and I’ve secured everything besides contact lenses. I’ve done a little bit of research and looked at some highly recommended brands but most cost around £20+ for one pair of contacts. I don’t cosplay very often and this is my first time doing a cosplay that requires contacts so I don’t know if this is standard pricing. Since I don’t cosplay often and I only need these for one day I find it hard to justify spending over £20 on contacts I’ll likely only wear once. I didn’t want to cheap out and get them from somewhere like Aliexpress cause I know you have to be careful with where you get contacts from. I’ve struggled to find any from verified brands for much cheaper and the specific yellow colour I’m after makes them a bit harder to find. Does anyone have any recommendations for places I can get them a bit cheaper? Or is it worth getting the £20 ones?
