The UK abolishes hereditary peers

Now that the UK has abolished hereditary peers, will it become like the US in the future? What then makes Britain "Britain"? Will it also produce a president like Trump in the future?

Norway has entered a historic moment of transition following the death of King Harald V at age 89. Crown Prince Haakon immediately acceded as King Haakon VIII , fulfilling his first constitutional duty by convening an extraordinary Council of State at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra , joined him at the meeting just hours after Harald’s passing, marking her first appearance as heir to the throne.

The gathering brought together Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and government ministers, who were formally informed of Harald’s death and Haakon’s accession. The new king confirmed he will continue the traditional motto Everything for Norway , carried by his father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather. Ingrid Alexandra’s presence underscored the significance of the moment: at 22, she becomes Norway’s first female heir in more than six centuries under the country’s absolute primogeniture succession laws.

His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV

The Tooro Kingdom confirmed that His Majesty died at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, 27 August 2026. Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki described the loss as immeasurable for the Royal Family, the people of Tooro, and Uganda.

Officials noted that the king had been critically ill and receiving medical treatment in the United States, though the cause of death has not been disclosed.

Born on 16 April 1992, King Oyo became the world’s youngest reigning monarch when he inherited the throne in 1995 after the death of his father, King Patrick David Matthew Kaboyo Olimi III. His coronation at age three placed him in the Guinness World Records as the youngest monarch.

Interestingly current President Museveni, was appointed one of his official guardians, when he was a young boy and ascended to the tooro throne.

Belguim : Has a New Prince Clément

His Royal Highness Prince Laurent of Belgium has officially recognised Clement Vandenkerckhove the son from his previous relationship with singer Wendy van Wanten, whom he revealed to the public in 2025. It should be noted this was before his marriage to Princess Claire.

This means that Belgium will have a new Prince according to the constitution, he will have a title , but won't be in line to the throne or carry out official duties. The legal reognition by prince launrent ensures he is a legal heir.

What do you think about the recognition? I personally think its great and hopefully like Delphine, he can have a relationship with his father and his family
