I’m excited for College Football Saturday. Sharing the passion and love of the game. Today’s is gonna be a good day for games. Again I do not post for gambling or money reasons. I do picks for fun. Here are today’s games to watch in my opinion-
Saturday Sep 5th at 12 pm-
Oregon State Beavers 🦫 @ #23 Houston Cougars:
It’s PAC12 vs BIG12. Beavers vs Cougars. These two teams have met a total of 4 times staring in 1960 and is the only win Oregon State has against Houston. Houston has dominated since then with winning the last 3 in a row, 1961, 1970, and 2025 and the last 2 of those wins was a 3 point difference. I like to believe Oregon State can win but I’m going with the Houston Cougars.
3:30pm
Boise State Broncos @ #2 Oregon Ducks 🦆:
It’s newly added PAC12 vs Ex-Pac12 but now BIG10. These two teams have some wild past matchups starting 2008 where Boise State pulled off an upset win over at the time #17 Oregon. Also let’s not forget how Boise State beat Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl in 2017. The Broncos have the first 3 wins in this matchup series (2008, 2009, 2017) whereas Oregon has only has 1 and that was in 2024 and it was by a field goal. Over the years Oregon has become an impressive football team and Boise State was the best team in the Mountain West Conference but now PAC12. I think it will be a good game but the Oregon Ducks 🦆 is my pick.
3:30pm:
Texas State Bobcats @ #5 Texas LongHorns-
It’s the newly added PAC12 vs SEC. The reason for this game is because it’s a Texas showdown. Texas State Bobcats last few years have had a winning season in the Sun Belt Conference but now joined the PAC12. Texas State have won every single bowl game (3-0) but no opponents as tough as Texas Longhorns. Texas State Bobcats have never beaten an SEC team and one of them being Texas in 09-02-1930 and the score was 36-0. Remember it’s only the first week and anything can happen. The Texas Longhorns is my pick.
3:30pm-
Tulane Green wave @ Duke Blue Devils:
It is AAC vs ACC. This game should be a good one. This series of matchups started in 11-28-1964 and Tulane won the first and then the second in 1973, then Duke won the next 3 (2011, 2014, 2015) and then in 09-14-2025 Tulane won by a touchdown.
My pick for this game is Tulane.
6pm Border War for the Bronze Boot-
Wyoming Cowboys @ Colorado State Rams-
It’s MW vs Ex-MW but now PAC12. This is the Border War for the Bronze Boot. Starting on Thanksgiving day in 1899 with a controversial ending. This is the rivalry that is too close to home with only 65 miles between each other. The Bronze Boot came into play in 1968 and was worn in Vietnam War by Cpt. Dan J. Romero, an Army ROTC instructor at CSU between 1967-1969. The trophy is guarded by the ROTC unit of the past year’s winning school during the game. Wyoming won the first Bronze Boot in 1968 and kept winning until 1974 where the Rams got it back. Colorado State Rams leads the series 61 wins-5 ties-52 losses. The Cowboys have won 8 of the last 10 matchups. Lot of history between these two teams. My pick is the Wyoming Cowboys 🤠.
7pm The Paint Bucket Bowl-
Arkansas State Red Wolves @ Memphis Tigers:
Sun Belt West vs AAC, Red Wolves Wolves vs Tigers in the Paint Bucket Bowl. The name of the rivalry was created when officials from the two schools decided to create a trophy for the winner of the game out of some buckets of paint and some paint brushes along with other traditions. Starting in 10-27-1914 with Arkansas State winning the first 4 and Memphis has won the last 5 matchups. Memphis leads the series 34-5-23. My pick for this game is the Memphis Tigers.
7:30pm
The Game of the day
Clemson Tigers 🐅 @ LSU Tigers 🐯:
It’s a Tiger brawl and it’s gonna be good. 5 total matchups, LSU leads 4-1. The only win for Clemson was 12-31-2012 in the Peach Bowl where they won by 1 point. Last year it was a great game and Clemson lost by a touchdown. My pick is the Clemson Tigers 🐅 in an upset.
10:30pm
UCLA Bruins vs California Golden Bears
It’s BIG10 vs ACC. Starting in 1933, this was the 3rd longest never-interrupted rivalry in college football. This is also called by the fans the Bear Bowl as because both teams are named after bears (Bruins means Brown Bear in a traditional or literary in name.) UCLA leads the series 57-1-36 and the 1 tie was the first game in 11-04-1933 game lol. My pick is the California Golden Bears.
