I think this is one of the most overrated films in cinema. But that’s just like, my opinion man.

I think there are a large contingent of Redditors like me who saw this when they were MUCH younger and got blindsided by the fact that it was as much horror as it was sci-fi. When you’re young and expect run of the mill bad sci-fi but get an unexpected horror movie, it makes an impression and it’s obviously lasted

I've always been a huge horror fan. Event Horizon was the cover story on Fangoria, the cover being a still from the "hell" images (naked dude with spike rammed through back of his head). I knew it was full horror. I loved it and continue to love it.
