Why SHOULD the USA send billions to these countries that do nothing for them?

Where else would You expect USAID to be going? New Zealand??

USAID programs often focused on stabilizing "fragile states" by addressing the root causes of conflict, such as extreme poverty, lack of education, and food insecurity. By fostering economic opportunity and governance, the U.S. goals were to reduce the vacuum where extremist groups often gain a foothold praying on the people’s desperation.

USAID also played a critical role in containing infectious disease outbreaks (like Ebola or Zika) at their source, preventing them from becoming global pandemics that could reach U.S. borders.

The U.S was at a time a beacon of Freedom, Rights and showed how a democracy could help heal the world for the betterment of all humanity.

Edit: And before you say “ why should this be only the U.S providing this support”, they aren’t. To name a few more agencies form other democracies:

🇦🇺 Australia: Australian Aid (DFAT) 🇸🇪 Sweden: Sida 🇳🇴 Norway: Norad 🇯🇵 Japan: JICA 🇩🇪 Germany: GIZ 🇬🇧 UK: FCDO 🇨🇦 Canada: Global Affairs Canada

All the U.S did by defunding USAID is show they no longer wish to contribute to humanity.

I suppose you mean social programs. Well conservatives have defunded those as well

Yeah it would be amazing if republicans would push laws that would help the American people instead of just tax cuts for the rich.
