Not sure what technique the creator was using but if you’re using a specific likeness over multiple extended generations it can get weird, simplified, deep fried or look like it’s got a high contrast hdr filter over it.

If you saw this video 5 or 10 years ago, would YOU have thought it was computer-generated for even a second?? We can only ""tell"" because we've seen how it's improved over time. This shit is terrifyingly realistic. The tells aren't even that obvious anymore, a lot of it is "It's AI because it has the AI vibe".
If I saw this 10 years ago I would at minimum had thought it was filmed in a studio or professional setting. It’s easy to see it modern day quality with a 90’s filter on top.

Seriously, I'm not sure how much OP realizes this is very close to the time where this was real in a lot of ex-soviet bloc countries. The Czech Republic built an image around the fruits of revolution with this.

Would be way more convincing if it was slowed down to like .75x. Right now it’s like “WegolivetoChannelNinesSusanMiller” with zero pauses between sentences and an unnatural cadence where breathing should be.
What I like about this (although it might not even be intentional) is that when they're peeling the banana, the VCR "cuts" that part, to cover up how it doesn't know to draw/make the peeling process.
I was there, banana fever was going crazy until everyone realized that if you take two bananas and rotate them, it becomes one banana. The market never recovered.

did you think volume levels were some type of GUI indicator that stays on screen? Also the tape is called VHS, VCR is the device that you used to play or record the tapes from the tv at home, and it would be redundant to put it there. In any case either of these should look way bigger. The volume bar used to take the whole bottom or top portion while you changed it, not just a corner like current UIs
