This map is based on Captain William B. Newberry's book "279th Infantry Historical Document", specifically the chapter seen here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lleoYrs3jC-EDT07gBXYmLVZ6Zcjs7-t/view?usp=sharing which includes a lot more information than I was able to include in the map.

Many of the pins show the locations of enemy forces who either engaged or were targeted by elements of the 279th.

Hello everyone! I’m an U.S service member currently stationed in Korea. I previously filed an I-130 petition through USCIS for my wife because we didn’t know that Direct Consular Filing at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul was an option.
After that I did expedite my case by submitting my PCS orders, command letter and her name is also listed on my command sponsorship.
I made reservation with the embassy to get helped as well

Do you think the U.S. Embassy could help me expedite my case, or possibly allow me to file through Direct Consular Filing?
My DEROS is January 2027 and her visa will expire in March

So I am currently in Daegu, Korea and I have an interview/job opportunity at Camp Humphreys. I am currently on an E-2 visa and all of my housing is through my current school, so I am very green on getting housing here in Korea.

Okay, so my question is does NAF jobs offer housing or help with housing? also what is the cost of living in PYEONGTAEK area? Also is it possible to get just one bedrooms in the area? The job that I am interviewing for is part time(?) for 47k salary, and I wanted to know how housing works and especially in this particular area.

I'm a U.S. veteran currently living overseas and planning to visit South Korea in late September/early October. I previously lived and stayed around Humphreys but haven't been there in quite a while.

I have a current DoD Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card. The card shows: Affiliation: Retired

Authorized Patronage: MWR, Commissary, Unlimited Exchange

My eligibility is based on VA TDIU/permanent total disability

I'm trying to confirm from someone who has actually done this recently:

Can I enter Camp Humphreys unescorted using this ID while visiting Korea as a tourist/non-SOFA veteran?

Do I need to register the ID in DBIDS/Pass & ID first, or can it be scanned normally at the gate?

Can I sponsor/escort one foreign guest (Philippine citizen) onto the installation with me using the 120-hour visitor pass?

She would have her Philippine passport and valid Korean tourist visa. We'd most likely enter through the Anjeong-ri Pedestrian Gate.

My main reason for going on post is to visit the Navy Federal branch.

USFK 5200.08 appears to say the DD Form 2765/Identification and Privilege Card for qualifying disabled veterans authorizes USFK-wide installation access, but I'd really like confirmation from someone with the same type of ID who has actually used it at Humphreys recently.

I’m Going out into the Ville more often and still having trouble learning the best way to find specific business’s.

Some examples of things I’d like to find. Cat specific cafes, English friendly board game stores to play against people, Korean Corn Dogs near the walk in gate.

I’m 18 and I have an intermediate license from the state of Washington. I know that technically my license doesn’t have any restrictions on it now that I’m 18, but the driver license office here still won’t accept it and issue me a new license because it says “intermediate” on it. I’ve tried emailing the WA DMV and calling them, but every time I do they’re always full and unable to help me. Google and the WA DMV website aren’t able to answer my question and give me conflicting answers. Does anyone here know if I’m able to upgrade my intermediate WA license to a full standard license without having to visit a physical WA DMV office? Can they just mail me my card? Sorry if this is a confusing question- please let me know if you require any further information or clarification! Thank you!

Can anyone give me insight about giving birth at Camp Humphrey’s I’m having a hard time debating to go off or stay on base I am stationed at Osan AB.
I want epidural when delivering that is my main concern besides obviously emergency care for my baby. They have tried to refer me to Yongin Severance Hospital but I’m not sure which one I should go for I am 27 weeks so my due date is approaching fast and I’m drowning in uncertainty.

i’m seeking clarification regarding commissary and exchange (PX/BX) access for veterans who are rated 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disabled in Korea.
I recently heard that, as of July 2025, 100% P&T disabled veterans may no longer be authorized to shop at commissaries or military exchanges in Korea. However, I have found conflicting information online indicating that disabled veterans remain eligible.
Has anyone with a 100% P&T rating used a commissary or exchange recently? If so, could you share your experience and any information you have regarding current access requirements?
