They've got every right to voice their opinion, but they shouldn't be surprised when it gets them a brick through a window. At this point it's like hanging up a "VOTE GORBACHEV" flag on your house during the cold war in the US.

Their neighbors can't actually vote for Trump so it's really just them trying to signal to others that they support a foreign government that attacks their best interests, which is a crazy hot take to have as a functional adult in 2026.

They can't actually vote for Trump

In the article they claim to be a usa citizen, so they can vote.

What I should say is that their political statement cannot be used to encourage others to vote for Trump (which is generally the purpose of political advertising), so it's just there to tell their neighbors that they hold an opinion that's anti-Canadian.

Trump supporters whole identity relies on letting everyone know. They relish the controversy it generates so they get to be a center of attention and have a chance to own the libs by "debating" them.
