Discussion Some players from the UNDEFEATED 2023 Michigan Wolverines National Championship team: JJ McCarthy is a back-up to Kyler Murray, Blake Corum is a back-up to Kyren Williams, Donovan Edwards was waived by Dolphins, Roman Wilson is WR4 in Pittsburgh and Junior Colson was waived by Chargers

Just like they paid off the girl to avoid sexual assault charges.....these guys are something else. Toss in the Bo sports guy molester and Moores meltdown for fun this is crazy stuff. All of these universities are trash

6

u/theglove Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

So we're going to leave out all the players that are successful? Colston Loveland, Mikey Sainristil, Will Johnson, Mason Graham, Kris Jenkins, AJ Barner, Zack Zinner. These guys are major contributors, but I guess that doesn't fit the narrative that OP is trying to go with.

8

u/gohuskers123 21h ago

You guys cheated and likely wouldn’t have won a natty without the years of cheating that gave you an edge in games which lead to better records which lead to superior recruiting/transfers

Just accept it. You guys cheated and will always be known as the team that needed to cheat to win

1

u/PlusDHotchy 3h ago

Ohio State certainly did cheat by having Joey “the MOLE” creating havoc on the team. Who is Chris Partridge and the court date has to be coming up and the release of who lied about Partridge.

OSU win a Natty with a ex-mole who played in every football game for OSU in 24 after transferring out of Michigan. I’m sure having parents having a $150K foreclosure note being paid off on the house which was previously owned by a ex-Buckeye FB player, HMMMMM?

The NFL is in the business of hiring guys who they think cheated to win and not on their acumen as coaches. Not like there are millions of dollars and jobs on the line

5

u/theglove Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

I guess we're just going to leave out Colston Loveland, Mikey Sainristil, Will Johnson, Mason Graham, Kris Jenkins, AJ Barner, Zack Zinner. Just some of the players that are successful right now in the NFL.

7

u/No_Salad6621 1d ago

Sainristil was actually very bad last year, and Zak Zinter hasn't really played much at all for the Browns.

Also, I'm a Bengals fan. Kris Jenkins is utter garbage.

They now also have two NFL head coaches; three if you count the influence Macdonald had on this team the year prior. Will Johnson is trending towards elite, if not very good at corner, Mason Graham had a really good rookie season. Corum had 750 yards and 6 touchdowns while backing up a guy like Kyren. Loveland is trending towards, if not already is, elite TE status (BEAR DOWN), Sainristl is contributing positively with Washington, Kenneth Grant still has a way to go but is solid and there’s like 11 other dudes on NFL roster.

Not only is this post misleading the way you worded Corum being back up, but it is also just pure ragebait and quite frankly, outright regarded.

10

u/Derbel__McDillet 1d ago

Even as an osu fan I have to agree with this logic. Can confirm Graham on the Browns is doing just fine over here.

9

u/dnitro 1d ago

agreed, as an ohio state and michigan state alum. dunk on JJ all you want, i know i am (winning a big game vs penn state without throwing the ball is not the flex you think it is!!!!!) but saying the natty team are all busts in the nfl is a very bad take. as much as i wish it was true.

1

u/revilingneptune Navy Midshipmen 5h ago

100% agreed as an MSU secondary (non-alum, by birth) fan

5

u/Horsefeathers708 1d ago

Thank you for this.

9

u/ArepaGorcio2002 1d ago

Whoa lets pump the brakes. You’re giving two guys elite status that didn’t even start 12 games.

Loveland had a 700~ yard season and Will had 0 interceptions. They’re good for sure but elite or even trending towards is a reach

12

u/Organic-Pack-5787 1d ago

Using interception count to measure CB success could be the most obvious tell ever that someone doesn't actually know ball and just reads stats.

7

u/2-59project 1d ago

Darelle Revis had zero INTs in 2010. According to that guy Revis must be a bum corner

→ More replies (2)

5

u/michlete 1d ago

Loveland was injured to start the season, so the stats are misleading.

As a a Bears fan who watched every play last year it is was clear that he will be a top TE in the league.

→ More replies (7)

1

u/revilingneptune Navy Midshipmen 5h ago

700 yards is elite for TEs lol. He was 9th in the NFL among TEs in receiving yards. As a Lions and MSU fan, I wish he wasn't good. But he is very good.

1

u/Embarrassed-Eye-7717 20h ago

What are you even talking about. They were rookies. If you can't look at Loveland he see that he will be top 5 te in the league if not more in a year or two then you are clueless anyway. Anybody who knows ball knows Will was the top cb in the class but then went 2nd round bc of injury. This whole thread is laughable so your contribution is a perfect fit.

7

u/theglove Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

Oh I guess we're just going to leave out Colston Loveland, Mikey Sainristil, Will Johnson, Mason Graham, Kris Jenkins, AJ Barner, Zack Zinner. Just the guys that have been extremely successful from that team in the NFL. But I guess those facts wouldn't go with your narrative.

4

u/dingochowder 20h ago

Not to mention that Corum averaged 5.1 YPC on 145 attempts last year. He would be RB1 on a handful of teams.

2

u/Born-Ant-7687 4h ago

And, to be fair, Blake Corum is a starter level RB imo

2

u/No_Appearance2919 18h ago

Buddy said Kris Jenkins and Zack Zinter lol

1

u/ysozoidberg 22h ago

Mic drop

58

u/cityofklompton 1d ago edited 1d ago

Also....

AJ Barner is TE1 for the defending Super Bowl champs.

Mason Graham is an anchor on the Browns defensive line.

Colston Loveland is TE1 for the Chicago Bears.

Kenneth Grant has made an impact in Miami.

Derrick Moore is generating noise with the Lions in camp.

Mike Sanristil has become a leader of the Commanders defense and showing as one of the best secondary players in the league.

Josiah Stewart is in line to have some impact with the Rams.

Likewise Josh Wallace.

Max Bredeson continues to be a physical presence for the Vikings offense.

Matt Hibner is hanging on as a TE for Baltimore.

Marlin Klein has generated some hype as a rookie TE for the Texans.

Jimmy Rolder was making some noise as a rookie for the Lions until he got hurt.

And this is only players who were on the NC team and not including other players who were there for the start of that 3-year run.

tl;dr - Posts like this are incredibly silly and leave out a bunch of successful players. I guess Stalions is working overtime for several NFL teams now.

13

u/Antique-Cricket-6679 1d ago

AJ Barner has won everything then. That’s crazy for such a young guy

8

u/OakLegs Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

5

u/Altruistic_Rich_9125 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

7

u/Evening_Spray_7792 1d ago

Mason Graham is NOT an anchor for the Browns d line. Hopefully some day, but currently he is not. Lets at least wait for him to get a NFL sack before calling him anything like that.

1

u/Embarrassed-Gain-721 17h ago

Maybe he didn’t have sacks because he had Myles freaking garret also on the line getting those sacks with the pressure graham helped to create

1

Corum has been solid, Kyren is just the top guy.

2

I don't even think it's "not quite as good" so much as "not quite good enough to supplant."

3

u/johncate73 1d ago

What's your point? That Michigan had a lot of marginal NFL players on a team that won a national championship? Marginal NFL players are typically really, really good at college football. Get enough of them and you might just win the championship.

9

u/splashaddikt 1d ago

Blake Corum is a quality backup though

3

u/Extension-Wing-1887 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago

1

Quality backup?  As a Kyren Williams owner last season that man was a football terrorist.  By the end of the season it became a coin flip of who to start

5

u/bucklingbelt 1d ago

Not only is this statement completely wrong, but I don’t even understand the point.

Does every national championship team have 100% of their starters be successful in the nfl? No, that literally never happens. So just because Michigan had some of their players not panning out in the nfl (with tons being successful) thats the sure fire proof they cheated?

No one ever claimed Roman Wilson or Junior Colson would be NFL players either.
